Monthly Wrap-Up: June 2021

Hello, everyone! This has been a really great month. I met my TBR goals and reviewed quite a few awesome LGBT books, which you’ll see below. At the beginning of the month, I decided to read only LGBT books to celebrate Pride month, and I enjoyed being able to celebrate the month in a way that was special to me. I did slow down my reading and review pace a bit this month, but I still managed to post content here daily by doing some new types of posts I’ve never done before. Overall, I’ve enjoyed my progress this month and am looking forward to seeing what July has in store!

Progress On My 2021 Reading Goal

June 2021 Reviews

In total, I completed 8 full-length book reviews and 4 mini book reviews this month. I reviewed the following books:

Original Work & Blog Posts

I continued participating in First Lines Fridays and Stacking the Shelves. I’ve still enjoyed doing them and will probably continue to write them for the foreseeable future as long as it remains enjoyable. I also added in a Top 5 Tuesday post because it was a topic I was already interested in writing about.

I also wrote a blog post this month detailing my most anticipated releases for next month and a book tag showing my recommendations for each of the colors of the Pride flag.

Other Books

I also read a few books that I haven’t reviewed yet. These included:

  • Heartstopper Vol. 1 by Alice Oseman
  • Heartstopper Vol. 2 by Alice Oseman
  • Heartstopper Vol. 3 by Alice Oseman

Final Thoughts

Looking back on my TBR for June, I met all of my goals. I finished reading all the books on my TBR and read a few more than the number I initially planned. I made significant progress on the ARCs I have and am continuing to improve my NetGalley feedback ratio. Overall, I’m satisfied with what I read this month and have had a lot of fun with the books and posts I was able to do. Thank you all for continuing this journey with me, and I hope you will be excited for what I have in store for July.

    • Me too! It was a lot of fun and a great way to celebrate. It sucks you didn’t get to do it this year, but, on the bright side, you can still read LGBT books during the rest of the year too. 🙂

  1. I loved Song of Achilles. I read it last year and it was one of my favorites of the year. I still haven’t read Circe but hopefully soon. I am so glad to see you liked Cemetery Boys. I really want to read that one. I hadn’t heard of The Relic Spell, but after reading your review, that’s one I will definitely be adding to my wish list. I hope you have a great July! Happy Reading!

  2. Great job meeting all your goals! For pride month I read Ace of Spades. I was still reading all my Asian author books from May because there were so many I wanted to read. My favorite was Tokyo Ever After. I have Autobiography here to read soon as well as Cemetery Boys and What If It’s Us. Hope your July is also going well!

    • Thank you! I tried to get to Ace of Spades in June, but I didn’t get to it. I’ve added it to my TBR for next month’s Trope-ical Readathon, and I’m really excited about it. I hope your July is going great, as well!
