Stacking the Shelves (12) – July 3, 2021

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! The meme is hosted by Reading Reality.

Weekly Wrap-Up

This week has been great. I finished June strong by completing The Relic Spell and the first three volumes of Heartstopper. One of my friends visited for the first time in a long time, and it was nice just to hang out and catch up. I also started CampNaNoWriMo and have been having fun with it so far. I’ve already almost doubled the length of my WIP in the last few days, and I’m excited to craft the rest of the story. Perhaps most importantly, I quit my job. I haven’t been enjoying it the last few months and really feel like I need a break from clinical work. Luckily, I’m in a position where I can take some time off to figure out the next step of my career. So, now I’ll be writing and reviewing full time for a bit until I decide my next move. Now…on to the books I picked up this week.

Barnes & Noble Purchases

After the buying spree last week, I was a bit more intentional in my purchasing this week. I went into Barnes & Noble looking for these two books and got out of there as soon as I found them. I walked away quite proud that I didn’t detour or pick up anything extra. 🙂 I’m excited about both of these Star Wars books and cannot wait to read them.

Amazon Book Mail

I picked up the other four volumes of this manga last week at Barnes & Noble, but they annoyingly did not have volume 2 in stock. So, I ordered it from Amazon, and it arrived this week.

eARC Approvals

I was approved for one new book (Shards of Earth) on NetGalley. I also picked up another book from BookSirens, The Warlock Snare. It is the sequel to one of my most recent reads, The Relic Spell, and I’m excited to see where the story goes next.

Final Thoughts

Overall, this was a considerably slower week for book acquisition, but I’m really excited about all of the ones I did get. I’ll be reading most of them within the next month or two because they are all high on my TBR. So, be on the lookout for reviews coming soon.

Have you read any of the books I picked up? If so, what did you think? Are any of these on your TBR? Let me know in the comments below!
