Hello everyone! Today’s post is another Top 5 Tuesday! The prompt for today is the top 5 books that did scare you. This is a tough one for me because I’ve not really come across any books that scare me, per se. I tend to avoid horror stuff for the most part because it’s not really my cup of tea. However, I have read some books that gave me serious spooky and/or creepy vibes or had concepts/ideas that kind of made me worried. So, that is what I will be including in this list. The Dark Chorus by Ashley Meggitt
This book about a psychotic, child serial killer is probably one of the creepiest things I’ve ever read.
The Taking of Jake Livingston by Ryan Douglass
This book about bullying, abuse, and ghost possession gave me seriously creepy vibes.
The Lore of Prometheus by Graham Austin-King
The psychological torture in this book is extreme and made me somewhat uncomfortable reading it.
The Hot Zone by Richard Preston
The idea that something as horrific as ebola existed freaked me out after reading this book, and I was horrified to think that it is something that I could be infected with one day if it ever spreads.
Untouched by Jayme Bean
This is a book on my TBR, but the cover and synopsis both stood out to me as being creepy and somewhat horrific. I’m looking forward to getting to it.
Well. I couldn’t quite make it to five books that I’ve already read, but there are my top 4 creepy/spooky choices that sort of scared me with one from my TBR that gives me those same vibes. Do we have any books in common? What books have scared you? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks! Ikr. It looks super creepy, but I’ve seen good things about it on Twitter. I’m also pretty sure it was free for a promotion, which is why I went ahead and picked it up. It is a little outside my usual reading preferences.

I’ve heard so many good things about The Taking of Jake Livingston, I really need to read it!
It is a pretty great book with lots of supernatural spookiness. I definitely recommend it.
