My Thoughts

I didn’t really care for this volume that much. It was still funny, overall, but I just didn’t really connect with the stories that well. None of them had me laughing out loud like all the previous volumes did. Some of the highlights were the rap battle, the buffet battle, and the dinner with the in-laws. I also enjoyed the chapter about the Halloween costume contest, and reading it was timely since Halloween was last week. The rest were just kind of meh. The artwork was still amazing throughout, though, and it really does bring these stories to life in such an animated way that elevates the humor and energy to another level beyond the written word. I also never noticed before that he is always wearing the same apron everywhere he goes, which just adds another level of silliness to everything happening in these books. Overall, the chapters here were fine, but not hilarious. I recommend picking up one of the other volumes first if you are interested in reading this series. Therefore, I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars.
