Top 5 Tuesday – Top 5 Bookish Resolutions for 2022

Hello everyone! Today’s post is the first Top 5 Tuesday of 2022! The prompt for today is the top 5 bookish resolutions for 2022. I’ve thought quite a bit about these over the last few weeks, and I think I’ve come up with five things I can actually accomplish this year. So, here they are! Top 5 Tuesday was created by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm, and is now being hosted at Meeghan Reads!

Goodreads Challenge

As always, I’ve set a Goodreads Challenge for the number of books I’d like to read this year. I decided to keep the same number as last year because I think it is an attainable goal. I’ve achieved it once. So, hopefully I’ll be able to do so again! This means I’ll once again be shooting for 100 books before the end of the year.

NetGalley Ratio & Reviews

I feel like this one is always an ongoing goal that I’m never quite able to reach because I’m constantly sabotaging myself by requesting more books. lol. However, I’m determined to end this year with a ratio above 80%. I also would really like to finish the year with at least 50 reviews completed. I’m at 26 now. So, only 24 more to go…

Nonfiction Books

I didn’t read a single nonfiction book last year. I’d really like to change that this year, but I’m gonna set the bar low at 2 books to make it achievable. I already have the two books in mind, which you can see below. Now I just need to actually read them. If you have any nonfiction recommendations, I’d love to hear them and add to my measly list of 2 books. lol. I’m specifically interested in biology, psychology, French/British/Roman history, or LGBT+ books.

Earn Some Awesome Badges!

I plan to earn all of the badges in the collection created for The Oasis Discord channel. It looks like a lot of fun and a great way to broaden my SFF reading while also getting to interact with others doing the same. And the badges look fantastic, which doesn’t hurt. 🙂

Read Tons of Comics!

I’ve really struggled the last few years with keeping up with my comics reading. I get really behind, and then I feel totally overwhelmed by it all and just ignore them, which only compounds the problem. So, I’m making the commitment to read every comic book the week I buy it. I’m also going to try to work on the enormous backlog I have, but I don’t think a specific goal for that will be super helpful right now.

So, there you have it. My top 5 bookish resolutions for 2022. I may have bit off more than I can chew with these, but we’ll see. Do you have any bookish resolutions for this year? If so, let me know what they are down in the comments!

  1. What a great list of resolutions. I like the plan of reading comics in the week that you buy them — very smart!! Hope you achieve all of them, and welcome back for 2022 💕
