I’ve once again made some serious progress in the last month. I’ve read and reviewed more NetGalley books in the last month than ever before. I’ve been approved for quite a few new books, as well, but I’ve still managed to raise my feedback ratio by a bit. I read and reviewed NINE books, and I’ve been approved for eleven new books in the last month. This is the first month where I’ve been invited by publishers to get their books, which was an awesome feeling. Four of my new books were invitations, and one of them was a granted wish, which I didn’t even know was a legit thing until it happened. You can see where I was last month in my most recent check-in post. My feedback ratio thankfully managed to climb two percent to 70%. I’ve completed 54 ARC reviews out of the total 77 for which I have been approved. I’m hoping to keep my ratio in the 70’s or above from now on, but we’ll see how that goes. I now have 22 books available to review on my shelf, which is a slight increase from where I was this time last month.

That’s so awesome that publishers are reaching out to YOU via NetGalley and not the other way around. All of your hard work/hobby is paying off! I’m not at the coveted 80% ratio, but I did climb a couple of percentage points to 66% yesterday after submitting my THE STARDUST THIEF review.
Also, wrt THE SPEAR CUTS THROUGH WATER…I remembered I read the author’s debut sci fi novel last year (or maybe the end of 2020) called THE VANISHED BIRDS. So I’ll be curious about your review for Jimenez’s next book. I unfortunately wasn’t a huge fan of BIRDS, but it also may have been deeper than I could comprehend? Idk. But THE SPEAR looks more fantasy-oriented, so I’m curious about it.
Yeah. I’ve been a little shocked, but super grateful, by all the emails with invitations. I’m not at 80% yet, but I’m hoping to be there by the end of the year. The request spree I went on today probably didn’t help. Lol
Well that makes me a little worried about that book. I’ve never read anything by the author. So, we’ll see…

Well I hope you end up liking SPEARS. There are definitely people on Goodreads who enjoyed BIRDS but idk like I said it might’ve just been too deep and open-ended for me haha.
It took ages to get my review rating up to 80% but since I managed it, it’s been fairly easy to keep it there. I used to read my Net Galley books in the order I requested them but now I read them in order of publication date. I sort out all the ones due for publication in the next month and try to get them read before the end of the month. So I’m currently working my way through the June releases on my list. April was a bit stressful though as I had so many books with May release dates. Generally though, it works well for me. Doing it this way stops me feeling pressured by how many books there are on my shelf too.
That is usually how I order my reads too. I’ve gotten a bit behind because I had so many April and May releases, but I’m on track to get caught up by the end of the month (I hope). I’ve definitely found reading by publication date to be the least stressful option because I feel like I’m failing at the purpose of getting an advanced copy if I don’t get the reviews out before the book is published.
