Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:

What did you read last?

I’ve been in a really weird headspace for the last couple of weeks, and it has made concentrating long enough to read much of anything very difficult. I also haven’t been blog hopping as much as usual, which I’ve missed. Maybe it is time for a hiatus? I don’t know. Even though I haven’t read as much as I would’ve liked, I have read some pretty good stuff this week. I LOVED A Little Bit Country by Brian D. Kennedy so much that I finished listening to it in one day. The Prince of Magic and Lies was okay and explored some interesting themes with good LGBT+ rep, but the pacing was off just enough to make it a bit of slog to finish. I was also able to fit in Bloom, which was an adorable queer YA story that heavily featured a bakery and all sorts of baked goods. My sweet tooth was aching and my stomach was rumbling by the time I finished it.

What was my favorite of the week? My favorite this week was definitely A Little Bit Country. It was such a great look at the struggle of living in the closet in rural America while also being witty and full of great country music references. I loved the twist at the end, as well, and thought it added a wonderful extra dimension to the story.

What are you currently reading?

I’ve been reading In the Shadow of Lightning for a few days now, and I’m enjoying it a lot. Based on my initial impressions of the first 60%, I think this one might be one of my favorite epic fantasies of the year so far. I’ve seen several people say the ending is mind-blowing, as well. So, if I’m loving it this much already, I’m pretty sure it is gonna end up being a 5-star read if the ending is truly epic. I’m hoping to finish it today. So, we’ll see…

What will you read next?

I’m setting some real lofty goals this week considering how the last couple of weeks have gone. lol. I have two library books and two ARCs that I really need to get to before the end of the month. So, I’m gonna try my best. I also still need to get started on my BBNYA excerpts for round one of the competition.
