It is almost time for the best month of the year! Why is it the best? February is my birthday month. 🙂 Seriously though… I can’t believe January is already over, but that means it is time for a new TBR. I always love looking forward to what I plan to read. So, let’s get down to it.
I’ve got a lot of great books on my list for this month, and once again I’m prioritizing my owned books with half of these being from my pre-2023 bookshelf. I’ll be continuing my 12 friends, 12 months, 12 books challenge, and my buddy read of the ACOTAR series with Celeste from A Literary Escape will be continuing. Here are the eight books I’ll be prioritizing in February:
- Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett (12 Books Challenge Pick)
- A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
- The Luminaries by Susan Dennard
- Spare by Prince Harry
- These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong
- Prince of the Sorrows by Kellen Graves
- The Foxglove King by Hannah Whitten
- The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
I also plan to read and review several ARCs in February:
- The Pledge by Cale Dietrich
- A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon
- The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen by KJ Charles

Ooo Happy way early birthday! You’ve got some great books coming up this month. I can’t wait to hear what you have to say about ACOMAF, Emily Wilde, and The Foxglove King! Priory of the Orange Tree is fantastic, too, but woah it’s a chonky boy.
Thank you! I’m very excited about all of these. I’ve had Priory on my shelf for a while, but it’s chonkiness has intimidated me. I’m not sure why I requested the prequel when I hadn’t even read the first book yet. 😅

We share a couple of February TBR books! The Foxglove King is on my list, as is Spare. Technically I’m on a holds list at my library for Spare, but I’m around spot 60-something & I think they have 50+ digital copies, so I expect to get it fairly soon. Thank you! I’ve had Spare on hold since it was released. It did go pretty quickly because my library got 30+ copies of the audiobook, which is insane. I just got access to it yesterday. I hope we both end up liking The Foxglove King. From what I’ve seen about it, it seems to be something we’ll probably both enjoy.

Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Fairies is on my tbr too!
And I recently read both The Luminaries and Prince of Sorrows, they both have strong things going for them, though I was partial to the second more than the first.
I’ve seen so many glowing reviews about Emily Wilde. So, I hope we both enjoy it. I’ve seen mixed things about The Luminaries, but I got it in the Illumicrate box. So, I feel obligated to read it after paying so much for it. Lol. I am looking forward to Prince of Sorrows, though. I stumbled across it on KU, and you’re the first person I’ve come across whose read it.
I’m getting ready to read both “Emily Wilde” and “The Foxglove King,” but I feel the need to dive into Sarah J. Maas.
I just finished ACOTAR last month and liked it. The writing wasn’t always the best, but I enjoyed it well enough. It was my first book by Maas, and I’m looking forward to continuing the series.
