Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?
What did you read last?
It has been quite a while since my last WWW Wednesday check-in on the blog. Three weeks, I think. That’s a bit too long to recap all of my reading since then, but here is a look at the books I’ve finished in the last week:
The Isle in the Silver Sea by Tasha Suri (3.5⭐) – I just reviewed this book. So, head over to the review for all of my thoughts. I will briefly say that I loved the writing and the themes it explored. However, the plot and world-building left a lot to be desired.
The Starving Saints by Caitlin Starling (3.25⭐) – What even was this book? lol. I enjoyed it well enough while listening to it during my gardening. However, I was pretty much just vibing with it without understanding anything that was going on. The world and characters just made little sense. Once I accepted it, it was fun to just go along for the ride. The atmosphere and claustrophobic feeling of the siege really came through in the writing, but everything else was just sort of all over the place.

What are you currently reading?
The Bookshop Below by Georgia Summers (20%) – I really like this book so far. The magical bookshops and the secret society of owners are both just really cool to explore. I still don’t really have a sense for where the story is going yet, but I am enjoying it.
Savage Blooms by S.T. Gibson (61%) – If this wasn’t an ARC, I’d probably have DNF’d it by now. The atmosphere of the writing really sucked me in at the beginning, but I’ve been bored for a while. I expected the story to largely focus on the characters and their interactions because that is definitely Gibson’s jam. I just don’t find any of these characters interesting. The insta-lust in this also feels super forced. I am curious to see exactly how the fae figure into all of it, but I’m beginning to doubt it will be a satisfying answer…

What will you read next?
I’ll be starting Go Luck Yourself by Sara Raasch as soon as I finish this post. I’ve been wanting to pick it up since this past spring, and I will wait no longer. lol. I also plan to start The Works of Vermin soon before it has to go back to the library. Finally, I’m still dying to pick up my recently delivered pre-order of the new Freya Marske novella.

Go Luck Yourself by Sara Raasch, The Works of Vermin by Hiron Ennes, Cinder House by Freya Marske
I hope you’ve all had a great week! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments and feel free to link your WWW Wednesday posts there, as well. I’d love to see them!
I’m so interested in reading The Starving Saints so I guess I’ll have to prepare for the chaos, lol. I’m sorry to hear Savage Blooms is kind of boring, it hasn’t really caught my attention so I’m glad then! The Works of Vermin is also another I really want to read! I hope you enjoy any that you pick up next 😀
