Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:

What did you read last?
Considering that it’s been almost NINE MONTHS since I participated in this meme, I won’t be recapping all of my reading since the last post. 🤣 That being said, here is a look at the books I’ve finished in the last week:
The Witch Below the Dreaming Wood by H.G. Parry (5⭐) – I just reviewed this book. So, head over to the review for all of my thoughts. I will briefly say that it was a brilliant reimagining of Arthurian legend, and I have no doubt that this book will be on my year’s end list of favorites.
Doctor Who: Circuit Breaker: Adversary of the Daleks by Dulce M. Montoya et al. (4⭐) – I was so excited to see that the Fugitive Doctor was getting her own multimedia crossover event. This comic is one of the earliest installments of the event, and it portrayed her first ever encounter with the Daleks. It was fun to see her trying to reason with the Daleks since she didn’t know anything about them yet, and that went about as well as you’d expect. lol. There wasn’t a ton of depth to the story, and I’m not the biggest fan of the artwork in this comic. However, it did a good job of introducing the main storyline for anyone who didn’t read the first part on the BBC website.
A Fire Endless by Rebecca Ross (4.5⭐) – Dini and I finished up our buddy read of this duology, and we both enjoyed it. This book added so much depth to the history of the isle and its spirits/fae, which I really loved. It did feel like it re-treaded similar ground in the relationship angst of Torin and Sidra, but individually they both had pretty great arcs that caused them to stretch and grow in new ways. I was also super invested in the relationship between Adaira and Jack, obviously. The book had me worried about them constantly, especially with Adaira in the West. The culture of the West was wild, and I honestly did not like it. I get that the people were shaped by their hard circumstances, but dang they were awful. I did enjoy seeing Adaira reconnect with her family, though, even if things were super icy between them at the start.
What are you currently reading?
The Sword-Witch’s Heart by Tavia Lark (29%) – I’m finally reading the last book in the Radiance series. This one is just as great as the first two so far. Evain is quite hilarious, and I love the dynamic between him and Leth, who is honestly a bit of stick in the mud. lol. There is something about Lark’s writing that makes it feel both angsty and warm at the same time, and it is just a joy to read, even in the darker moments.
Sunsplitter by S.A. MacLean (21%) – I’m so stoked to finally be reading this book! I loved Voidwalker, and this follow-up is not disappointing so far. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will say that Antal’s dad is just as big of a douche canoe as you’d expect. lol.
Arcana Academy by Elise Kova (19%) – I’ve really struggled to get into this one, which sucks because I was expecting to love it. 😭 The tarot magic system seems cool, but there’s something about the writing that just isn’t working for me. It doesn’t help that so much of the setup for the story is steeped in common, tired tropes that I’ve seen handled better elsewhere. Also, this academy makes absolutely no sense. It’s only existed for four years, and the headmaster is the same age as graduating students? I don’t care how much of a prodigy prince he is. I don’t buy it. Hopefully, it’ll get better because my pre-order of the sequel arrived yesterday…
What will you read next?
My next read will be my ARC of Trade of Blood. I also hope to finish the last book from my TBR, We Burned So Bright, before the month is over. I might also jump straight into Prince of Swords while the events of Arcana Academy are fresh in my mind. That will be dependent on whether Arcana Academy gets any better. lol.

Oooh nooo, I hate to see that Antal’s dad is as big of a douche canoe we expected! I’m defo not looking forward to that but I hope it’s not too unbearable. Can’t wait to see your review for it 😍 Also glad that we finally read that Rebecca Ross series. I still feel like *the consequences* for a certain someone in the West should’ve been worse because they were The Worst™️. 😂
Antal’s dad is horrible, but the book is really good so far. I’m hopeful it will stick the landing. Yeah. That certain someone from the West was awful. I wish she’d have chopped his head off and spared the mom as her show of mercy. He definitely deserved it. lol.
