Year’s End NetGalley Check-In – 2022

One of my main goals this year was to get to 50 NetGalley reviews and an 80% feedback ratio. I’ve actually gotten up to 99 reviews, and my feedback ratio is holding steady at 80%. So, I’ve met and surpassed my goal. It has been a truly great year, and I’m so grateful to all the publishers that provided advanced copies for me to review. I hoped to have all of my 2022 ARCs read before the end of the year, but I’ve still got two left. I’ve also got so many great 2023 releases to dive into, and I’m very excited about all of them. Believe it or not… This was me being reserved in my requests. lol. I’m not sure what my target for 2023 will be yet, but regardless of my goals, I’ve got some great 2023 reads to look forward to.

Mid-Month NetGalley Check-In – July 2022

I’ve fallen a bit behind this month because of all the library books I’ve been reading… I only reviewed three NetGalley books this month, and I’ve been approved for five new books. You can see where I was last month in my most recent check-in post. My feedback ratio dipped one percent to 71%, which means it is moving in the WRONG direction. lol. I’ve completed 65 ARC reviews out of the total 91 for which I have been approved. I now have 26 books available to review on my shelf, which is a slight increase from where I was this time last month. This next month and a half is super daunting because almost half of the books on my NetGalley shelf will be published by the end of August. I really didn’t plan these requests very well…

Mid-Month NetGalley Check-In – June 2022

I’ve once again made some progress in the last month. I read and reviewed eight books, and I’ve been approved for nine new books in the last month. You can see where I was last month in my most recent check-in post. My feedback ratio thankfully managed to climb another two percent to 72%. I’ve completed 62 ARC reviews out of the total 86 for which I have been approved. I’m excited that I am still managing to keep my percentage at 70% or above, and I’m going to do my best to keep it there while I work to reach the coveted 80% threshold. I now have 24 books available to review on my shelf, which is a slight increase from where I was this time last month. Many of the books I’ve recently gotten have been sequels of books I haven’t read. So, I’ll be starting a lot of new series/duologies in the near future, which I’m pretty excited about while also finding the shear number of books I need to read a bit daunting.

Mid-Month NetGalley Check-In – May 2022

I’ve once again made some serious progress in the last month. I’ve read and reviewed more NetGalley books in the last month than ever before. I’ve been approved for quite a few new books, as well, but I’ve still managed to raise my feedback ratio by a bit. I read and reviewed NINE books, and I’ve been approved for eleven new books in the last month. This is the first month where I’ve been invited by publishers to get their books, which was an awesome feeling. Four of my new books were invitations, and one of them was a granted wish, which I didn’t even know was a legit thing until it happened. You can see where I was last month in my most recent check-in post. My feedback ratio thankfully managed to climb two percent to 70%. I’ve completed 54 ARC reviews out of the total 77 for which I have been approved. I’m hoping to keep my ratio in the 70’s or above from now on, but we’ll see how that goes. I now have 22 books available to review on my shelf, which is a slight increase from where I was this time last month.

Mid-Month NetGalley Check-In – April 2022

I’ve made some serious progress in the last month. I’ve read and reviewed more NetGalley books in the last month than ever before. I’ve been approved for a few new books, as well, but I’ve still managed to raise my feedback ratio by a bit. I read and reviewed seven books, and I’ve been approved for five new books in the last month. I’ve also read one more book that hasn’t been reviewed yet. You can see where I was last month in my most recent check-in post. My feedback ratio thankfully managed to climb seven percent to 68%. I’ve completed 45 ARC reviews out of the total 66 for which I have been approved. I now have 20 books available to review on my shelf, which is a few less than where I was this time last month. Progress!

Mid-Month NetGalley Check-In – March 2022

I’ve been trying to do better. I really have. I swear I haven’t been requesting as many books, but I’ve been (luckily) getting approved for most of what I request. So, despite my best efforts, my feedback ratio hasn’t changed much. I’ve been approved for a ton of great new books, including some of my most anticipated releases of the year. I’m pretty excited about it even if it means reading them on a faster schedule to get the reviews done before publication. I read and reviewed five books, and I’ve been approved for eight new books in the last month. I’ve also read two more books whose reviews haven’t been published yet. You can see where I was last month in my most recent check-in post. My feedback ratio thankfully managed to climb one percent to 61%. It went up as far as 63% at one point, but after a few new approvals it dropped back down again. I’ve completed 37 ARC reviews out of the total 53 for which I have been approved. I now have 23 books available to review on my shelf, which is once again the most I’ve ever had at one time.

Mid-Month NetGalley Check-In – February 2022

When it comes to NetGalley, things have been quite busy. I read and reviewed four books, and I’ve been approved for six new books in the last month. You can see where I was last month in my most recent check-in post. My feedback ratio thankfully managed to stay stable at 60%. I’ve completed 32 ARC reviews out of the total 53 for which I have been approved. I now have 20 unread books available to read on my shelf, which is once again the most I’ve ever had at one time. The reviews I completed in the last month were Obsidian, Midnight Horizon, Bluebird, and Age of Ash.

Mid-Month NetGalley Check-In – January 2022

It has been a very busy couple months since the last time I did a NetGalley check-in. I’ve been approved for a ton of new books, and these next few months are going to be filled with ARC reading as a result. You can see where I was two months ago in my last check-in post. My feedback ratio has dropped a bit more since then to 60%. I’ve completed 28 ARC reviews out of the total 47 for which I have been approved. I now have 18 unread books available to read on my shelf, which is the most I’ve ever had at one time. The reviews I completed in the last two months were Forging a Nightmare, Jade Legacy, Tethered Spirits, Daughter of the Moon Goddess, The Beholden, and Engines of Empire.

Mid-Month NetGalley Check-In – November 2021

This has been another busy month for NetGalley requests and approvals. I’ve read a few of the eARCs, but my requesting spree has far outweighed what I’ve been able to read. Check out where I was a month ago in my last check-in post. My feedback ratio has dropped a bit more to 63% as a result of my overindulging in requests. I’ve completed 22 ARC reviews out of the total 35 for which I have been approved. I now have 12 unread books available to read on my shelf, which is the most I’ve ever had at one time. The reviews I completed in the last month were The Magi Menagerie, A Marvellous Light, and The Bone Shard Emperor.

Mid-Month NetGalley Check-In – October 2021

This has been a busy month so far for NetGalley requests and approvals. Luckily, I’ve also been able to read two NetGalley eARCs since my last check-in to try to even things out a bit. Check out where I was a month ago in my last check-in post. My feedback ratio has dropped a bit to 68%, though, because I’ve still gotten approval for more than I read. I’ve completed 19 ARC reviews out of the total 28 for which I have been approved. I now have eight unread books available to read on my shelf. The reviews I completed in the last month were Traitors of the Black Crown and Child of Light.

Since I’ve finished my Goodreads Challenge for the year already, I’ve decided to set another challenge for myself. I plan to get to 25 NetGalley eARC reviews by the end of the year. As mentioned above, I’ve completed 19 so far. So, I don’t think it is an impossible goal. Hopefully, it will also help my ratio enough to bump it over 80% for the first time, but we’ll see.

The books below are those currently needing to be read on my shelf. I plan to read and review the books in bold before the next check-in on November 15.

The Magi Menagerie by Kale Lawrence | Publication Date: September 7, 2021
Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan | Publication Date: January 11, 2022
The Bone Shard Emperor by Andrea Stewart | Publication Date: November 23, 2021
The Beholden by Cassandra Rose Clarke | Publication Date: January 18, 2022
Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee | Publication Date: November 30, 2021
Veil by Dylan Farrow | Publication Date: April 26, 2022
Obsidian by Sarah J. Daley | Publication Date: January 25, 2022
Forging a Nightmare by Patricia A. Jackson | Publication Date: November 23, 2021
