Hello everyone! It has been a while since I participated in Top 5 Tuesday. So, I thought I’d give this week’s prompt a go. The prompt for today is my top 5 books of 2022… so far. Of course, it had to be a hard topic. lol. I’ve read 90 books so far this year, and I don’t really know how I’m going to narrow it down to five. I’m gonna give it my best shot, though. I’m also going to restrict this to books I’ve read in 2022 that were also published this year to try to make it a little easier. Here we go! Top 5 Tuesday was created by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm, and is now being hosted at Meeghan Reads!
I’ve once again made some progress in the last month. I read and reviewed eight books, and I’ve been approved for nine new books in the last month. You can see where I was last month in my most recent check-in post. My feedback ratio thankfully managed to climb another two percent to 72%. I’ve completed 62 ARC reviews out of the total 86 for which I have been approved. I’m excited that I am still managing to keep my percentage at 70% or above, and I’m going to do my best to keep it there while I work to reach the coveted 80% threshold. I now have 24 books available to review on my shelf, which is a slight increase from where I was this time last month. Many of the books I’ve recently gotten have been sequels of books I haven’t read. So, I’ll be starting a lot of new series/duologies in the near future, which I’m pretty excited about while also finding the shear number of books I need to read a bit daunting.
Hello, everyone! Happy Pride month! Last year for Pride I only read and reviewed books with queer main characters or authors. Most of the books I read this month will follow suit. However, I’m also going to have a few reads that don’t fit that trend due to ARC obligations. Luckily, most of what I read is very queer anyway, and I’m a huge supporter (and reader) of queer books year round. So, I don’t feel super obligated this year to stick to as rigid of a structure as I did last year when I was fairly new to blogging and also relatively new to reading books with queer characters. The last year and a half of exploring a lot of queer characters and their stories has been a wonderful way for me to engage with that aspect of my identity and learn about myself in a new way. I’m looking forward to continuing to read amazing queer stories, this month and all the months to come.
I started this month with the intention to mostly mood read. The last several months I’ve done a ton of readathons, and I’m a bit burned out on having such a strictly set reading list. I have a few ARCs I need to get to, but beyond that my intention was to just read stuff from my shelves that caught my eye at whatever pace felt right. The library had other plans. lol. I had three holds become available yesterday. So, I’ll be reading those books first followed by the ARCs. Then I plan to switch into full on mood reading mode with the time that is left.

These are some of the books that I’ve been dying to get to but haven’t had the chance to read yet. If the mood is right, I’m hoping to get to them this month. This is the no pressure section, though. So, don’t be too surprised if I don’t get to them. They’re just the most likely mood reading picks.
Are any of these books on your TBR? Have you already read them? If so, what did you think? Do you have a favorite book with LGBT characters that I need to add to my TBR? Let me know down in the comments!
Hello everyone! Welcome back for another Top 5 Tuesday! The prompt for today is my top 5 reading accessories. I definitely have a set of things that I always love to have on hand while reading. Although, the exact item(s) I use often depends on the format I’m reading. Top 5 Tuesday was created by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm, and is now being hosted at Meeghan Reads!
Hello everyone! Welcome back for another Top 5 Tuesday! The prompt for today is my top 5 places to read. I don’t leave home much except for errands or shopping. So, most of my favorite places to read are at home. I know. Shocking right?! Top 5 Tuesday was created by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm, and is now being hosted at Meeghan Reads!
I’ve once again made some serious progress in the last month. I’ve read and reviewed more NetGalley books in the last month than ever before. I’ve been approved for quite a few new books, as well, but I’ve still managed to raise my feedback ratio by a bit. I read and reviewed NINE books, and I’ve been approved for eleven new books in the last month. This is the first month where I’ve been invited by publishers to get their books, which was an awesome feeling. Four of my new books were invitations, and one of them was a granted wish, which I didn’t even know was a legit thing until it happened. You can see where I was last month in my most recent check-in post. My feedback ratio thankfully managed to climb two percent to 70%. I’ve completed 54 ARC reviews out of the total 77 for which I have been approved. I’m hoping to keep my ratio in the 70’s or above from now on, but we’ll see how that goes. I now have 22 books available to review on my shelf, which is a slight increase from where I was this time last month.
Hello everyone! Welcome back for another Top 5 Tuesday! The prompt for today is my top 5 drinks for reading. In general, I’m pretty basic when it comes to what I drink. So, this is going to be a pretty boring list. lol. I detest tea with a passion. I don’t particularly like coffee that much either, but I’ll occasionally drink it if it has lots of sugary stuff in it. I also don’t really drink alcohol anymore. I’ve never really cared for the taste unless it is drowned out in some sort of delicious cocktail, and I only drink cocktails when I go out, which hasn’t happened in a couple of years at this point. After the cancer surgeries and treatments, I honestly just sort of lost interest in alcohol. So, it is not making this list either. What does that leave? Read on to find out! Hello, everyone! Happy Star Wars Day! In honor of the day, today’s post is my TBR for May, which centers around the May the Force Read with You Readathon created by Breakeven Books. I was so excited to find this readathon because I wanted to do something Star Wars related this month. I’ve chosen to walk the path to the dark side, which has five levels. To become a Dark Lord of the Sith, I need to develop five force abilities (AKA read five books). Along the way I plan to build my team of allies and my weapons collection by reading even more books. This TBR is a mix of ARCs I really need to get to and books that have been on previous TBRs, along with a couple recent releases. I’m behind on ARCs for the first time, and it’s making me anxious. So, I’m going to try to get caught up on everything this month… I’m also looking forward to finally (hopefully) getting to Little Thieves and Victory’s Price since I’ve been wanting to read them since last year.
If you are interested in learning more about the readathon and the prompts, I’ve embedded the announcement video below. There is also a pdf of the different prompts available in the video description on Youtube.
Hello everyone! Welcome back for another Top 5 Tuesday! The prompt for today is the top 5 snacks for reading. In general, I don’t really eat that much while I’m reading. The food tends to distract me from the book, and I’ll often end up sitting down and eating the entire snack before I even get back to reading. I’m also super picky about keeping my books in good condition. So, eating while reading a physical book is something I’m probably unlikely to do unless the snack doesn’t dirty my fingers. That being said, I do tend to snack some when reading on my Kindle or listening to an audiobook, especially audiobooks since it is easy to listen and munch without getting distracted. Hello everyone! Welcome back for another Top 5 Tuesday! The prompt for today is the top 5 books about a death. Quite a few books came to mind for this one, but these five really stood out to me (probably because of recency bias…lol…but seriously I really liked all of these).
