WWW Wednesday (4) – June 1, 2022

Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

What did you read last?

This week was down to the wire. I finished my last read of May with only TWO MINUTES to spare! But I did it! 🙂 I read, and really, really loved, Book Lovers by Emily Henry. The excellent chemistry, bookish elements, and “difficult” personalities came together to create a story I didn’t want to put down. I also read A Magic Steeped in Poison and My Mechanical Romance. I didn’t really connect with A Magic Steeped in Poison as much as I expected and found the characters to be a bit flat and the plot to be somewhat of a mess. The writing was beautiful, though, and the author did a fantastic job with describing the setting and making me feel like I was there, especially in regard to all the food. My Mechanical Romance was a good YA novel with an empowering message, but the romance wasn’t as prominent as I expected from the title even if it was cute. Most importantly, I FINALLY read Little Thieves by Margaret Owen. This book has been on three monthly TBRs at this point, and I was afraid for a second that I wouldn’t get to it yet again. I did, though, and I loved it.

What was my favorite of the week? It is a toss up between Book Lovers and Little Thieves. Although, I think I have to give it to Little Thieves for living up to all the hype I had built up about it in my head.

What are you currently reading?

I just started When London Snow Falls by Hayden Stone. I’ve only finished the first chapter, but I’m not really a fan so far. The main character is already having fantasies about licking the love interest even though they just met less than five minutes ago. He feels a bit desperate. lol. We’ll see how the rest of the book goes.

What will you read next?

I have absolutely no idea what I want to read next. I plan to spend this entire month mood reading after completing several months of readathons. All I know about my next read is that it will be SUPER GAY. It is pride month after all. 🌈🙂

What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think? Let me know in the comments!
