Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?
What did you read last?
This has been another pretty great week. I finished listening to Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare. It was probably my least favorite of The Dark Artifices books. It was super bloated, and I lost interest in most of the plot lines halfway through the book. I also read Silver Under Nightfall by Rin Chupeco. This was a cool take on vampires that involved lots of political conspiracy, plenty of action, and a hot throuple. One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig was SO GOOD! It was tense with a fascinating magic system, interesting characters, and a compelling romance. Finally, I read the Grishaverse graphic novel Demon in the Wood. It was a look into the types of experiences that made the Darkling who he was in Shadow & Bone, and the art was really beautiful. If you enjoyed Shadow & Bone, I definitely recommend it.
What was my favorite of the week? My favorite this week was definitely One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig. I didn’t want to put it down and just loved everything about it.

What are you currently reading?
I’m currently listening to Portrait of a Thief. It isn’t really my cup of tea. All of the characters are so similar it took me forever to be able to distinguish them, and the similarities make their thoughts super repetitive. It has an interesting message about colonialism and living in the U.S. as a child of immigrants, but the delivery of the message leaves a lot to be desired. I’ve also finally started Daughter of Sparta. It has been fast-paced so far, and I’m enjoying the banter between Daphne and Apollo.

What will you read next?
I have a couple more ARCs I’m hoping to get to this month, including the sequel to Daughter of Sparta. I probably won’t be able to finish both, but I’m going to try.

I hope you’ve all had a great week! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think? Let me know in the comments!
One Dark Window was so surprisingly good!! Daughter of Sparta looks good and I hope you enjoy! Have a great week!
