Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?
What did you read last?
I finished a few books this week. The Legend of Black Jack was a fast-paced, coming-of-age adventure with larger than life characters and fascinating world-building. Deadbeat Druid was good, but didn’t really work as an ending for the series as much as I hoped it would. I hated that Adam and Vic were apart for the whole novel again, and there was just no time to enjoy them being together. The Golden Enclaves was a great conclusion even without spending a ton of time in the Scholomance. So many things paid off in this story that I didn’t even expect. It completely changed the way I saw the first two books. My poor heart broke for Orion. I’ll just leave it at that… Finally, I finished one of my BBNYA finalists and loved it!
What was my favorite of the week? Definitely The Golden Enclaves. I’ve enjoyed this series much more than I expected given the somewhat mixed reviews I’ve seen of it. This book had such fascinating parallels to the evils of capitalism that really made me stop and think.

What are you currently reading?
I’m currently listening to The Wicked Day. The perspective has switched to that of Mordred (mostly) for this last book of Mary Stewart’s Arthurian Saga. I’m curious to see what twists she will add to the story that make Mordred more of a human character like she did for Merlin. MOST IMPORTANTLY, I GOT APPROVED FOR THE ARC OF IN THE LIVES OF PUPPETS LAST NIGHT!!! Did I stay up late into the night to start reading it? Of course. Should I have been reading my BBNYA novel instead? Ha. Ha. Yes. Do I regret my choice? Not the slightest bit! 🙂 I am loving the characters in this new Klune book SO FUCKING MUCH and will be spending the rest of the day racing through it.

What will you read next?
Who knows? I have a TBR, but I’m super tempted to throw it out and just go on a mood reading bender of 2023 ARCs. Check back next week to see what kind of damage I’ve done to my prospects of finishing Reindeer Readathon successfully. lol. Maybe I can make some substitutions…
I hope you’ve all had a great week! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think? Let me know in the comments!
I GOT THE ARC FOR IN THE LIVES OF PUPPETS LAST NIGHT TOO!!!!

🙂 I’ve literally thrown all my other plans out the window and will be spending the rest of the day in bed with this book and my cat.

I remember not liking The Wicked Day as much as the earlier books. I think I would rather have Mordred as a villain. I hope that you enjoy it

That’s the thing I’m most curious about. She did such a wonderful job of peeling back the mystical to humanize Merlin, and I’m uncertain whether the same can be done with Mordred. I like his character so far, but I’m worried that he’ll be too sympathetic for the betrayal to work…

I am already loving it, which is no surprise. I’m not going to say much yet other than I’ll never look at my Roomba the same way again. lol.

I just finished THE LAST GRADUATE last night, and my heart goes out to everyone who had to wait a year between books! I’m hoping to finish the series next month.

OMG I know right. I only waited a week, and it was torture. Lol. That ending of book 2 was definitely jaw dropping. I hope you enjoy the conclusion as much as I did. 🙂

I just finished Thunder Road by Colin Holmes. It’s an interesting combo of Western, sci-fi, and mystery. My review will be up on Saturday. I’m fixing to start The Innocent Wife by Lisa Regan, #16 in her Detective Josie Quinn series.
