Today I’m participating in Top Ten Tuesday, which was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each week there is a new theme/topic, and participants choose ten books that fit it.
This week’s theme is Top Ten Books on My Summer 2024 To-Read List. I’m still not really doing strict TBRs right now, but these are some books I hope to get to this summer. A few of them are ARCs, but most of them are books from my shelves that I need to read. I also took a little time to look back at my Spring 2024 to-read list. I did pretty good and managed to read seven of the ten books I wanted to read in spring. I hope I’m able to do so well during the summer, too! The covers link to Goodreads in case any of them catch your eye!

Navola by Paolo Bacigalupi, A Darker Mischief by Derek Milman, The Undermining of Twyla and Frank by Megan Bannen, Red Rising by Pierce Brown, Temptation of the Force by Tessa Gratton

Leather & Lark by Brynne Weaver, Dreadful by Caitlin Rozakis, Evocation by S.T. Gibson, An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir, The Ivory Tomb by Melissa Caruso
There you have it! Ten books on my summer 2024 to-read list. Have you read any of these? Let me know down in the comments!
I had A Darker Mischief on my list today as well 😃 I’m hoping to read it soon if you’re up for a buddy read let me know! Ember in the Ashes is a book that I’ve been hoping to re-read for ages so I can finally finish the series, lol. I hope you enjoy it and all the other books on here. Happy reading!
I hope you enjoy An Ember in the Ashes! I really enjoyed that series.
Thank you! I’m looking forward to it because I’ve heard nothing but great things.
I’ve struggled to get into Star Wars fiction after the Disney takeover. 🙁 Loved the old EU stuff, though.
I get that. It has been hit or miss for me. I’ve enjoyed most of The High Republic books, though, and find the era to be an interesting one.
I see Twyla and Frank A LOT today.
From your list, I only read An Ember in the Ashes.

I think its imminent release could be why Twyla and Frank is showing up a lot. Bannen’s last book was really great, too. So, I’m sure there’s plenty of hype for this one. I just hope it lives up to it. 🙂
Dreadful looks like a good read.
I hope you enjoy these, and I hope you have a great summer!
Thank you! I hope you do, too!
You have a couple here that I’ll be picking up soon myself. Hope you enjoy them all!
Thank you!
I hope you enjoy reading them all.

An Ember in the Ashes is such a great series. I still need to read the last book. haha. I hope to do that soon, maybe. LOL. I really want to read Twyla and Frank! I can’t wait to see what you think of Evocation. I’m undecided about that one.
I’ve been wanting to jump into An Ember in the Ashes because I’ve seen nothing but great things about it. I think Twyla and Frank will be my next read, and I’m super excited about it. 🙂
Ember is such a great series. It is very intense and Sabaa is not afraid to go harsh on her characters. lol. I think we are all so excited about Twyla and Frank. I hope it lives up to our excitement!! Enjoy 🙂
I saw DREADFUL the other day in Barnes & Noble. It looks fun! I hope you enjoy all these.
Happy TTT!

Thank you! Dreadful does look like a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to it! 🙂
An interesting looking list. The covers are eyecatching.
I love making TBR lists but fail to complete them every time 😂
I hope that you enjoy these when you get to them.
Have a great week!

Thank you! I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one who enjoys making the lists but isn’t the best at completing them. 🙂
Nope. You are not alone 😊 I do list making for fun 😂
The Undermining of Twyla and Frank seems to be on a lot of lists this week. I’m hoping to get round to Dreadful too this summer.
I really enjoyed Bannen’s previous book and have been looking forward to finally getting to Twyla and Frank. It comes out in just a couple of weeks. So, that might be why it keeps showing up on lists.
Dreadful looks really fun, and I’m looking forward to it, too.
