The start of September means it is time again for one of my favorite readathons, Magical Readathon. Classes at Orilium resume on September 1, and my character has the month to try to get good grades while also maybe going on some side quests. We’ll see how motivated he is… lol. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, you can find more information about the Magical Readathon Fall 2024 Equinox in this term’s announcement video. Now let’s jump into some character background and the books I hope to read to satisfy my course requirements this month.

Character Background

Padwin spent the last two years at Orilium studying to become a dream walker, which means he’s earned the level of apprentice. In general, he’s always been a pretty shy person since he grew up roaming the shelves of the Great Underworld Library of Darkmeadow. He’s interested in understanding people, though, and his time at Orilium and his dream walker studies have helped him be more comfortable around others.

He believes that he still has much to learn about the mind and has decided to spend this year studying the calling of mind mender. He thinks it will pair well with his dream walker skills and fits his interests in psychology. He’s not sure if he will ever want to work as a mender/healer, but he is more open to the possibility than he was at the beginning of his educational journey. Padwin had a rough go of it in the Spring Equinox. He barely finished all of his course requirements. He even considered bailing on this semester because he just isn’t feeling that great, and he doesn’t want to fail. Ultimately, he has decided to give things his best, though, and we’ll see whether he can make his required grades this term…

Orilium Spring Equinox Classes, Prompts, & TBR

In order to continue on his studies to become a mind mender, Padwin must get certain grades in three classes this fall: an ‘O’ in spells & incantations, a ‘D’ in psionics & divination, and a ‘Q’ in restoration. I’ve managed to narrow down the books I’m going to read to successfully achieve each grade, but, as always, they are subject to change without notice. lol.

Spells & Incantations ‘O’: Dancing Stars – 5-star prediction
