The first of the month means that it is time for a new TBR! So, today I’m making a new one for August. Without further ado, let’s dive into my August 2025 hopefuls!

Recap of Last Month

I finished all six books on my TBR from last month. It came down to the wire because I finished one last night, but I did it! lol.

August 2025 Hopefuls

I’m sticking with six books again for August. I’ve once again split the TBR into two parts: chosen books and categories with a range of potential hopefuls. August’s chosen books are a couple of ARCs I need to read this month (The Good Vampire’s Guide to Blood & Boyfriends by Jamie D’Amato & Wings of Steel and Fury by Sarah J. Daley) and Ascension by S.T. Gibson, which I’m buddy reading with Celeste starting today. Finally, the categories I’ve chosen to focus on this month are overdue ARCs, book box picks, and re-reads. So, ARCs will still be a high priority this month as they take up half of my planned reading.

Overdue ARC

I’m pretty much always behind on ARCs. So, each month I try to tackle at least one that is overdue for a review. This month I hope to focus on these three Orbit titles:

The Radiant King by David Dalglish, The Fire Within Them by Matthew Ward, The Mercy Makers by Tessa Gratton

Book Box Pick

I still need to focus on reading the books I get in my monthly subscriptions. So, I chose once again to make a pick from recent book boxes one of my categories. Here are a few of the books that I am considering:

Re-Read

I’ve been in the mood to re-read recently. So, I’m going to try to make it a priority for this month. Babel is the most likely pick. I think I want to re-read it to hype myself up even more for Katabasis, but I also really need to re-read Dragonfall so that I can finish up that duology. I also want to start my re-read of the Grishaverse so that I can finally get around to reading the King of Scars duology, but we’ll see.
