The first of the month means that it is time for a new TBR! So, today I’m making a new one for July. I always love making lists, even if I’m not super consistent at following them. Without further ado, let’s dive into my July 2025 hopefuls!
Recap of Last Month
I finished four of the six books on my TBR from last month. I got behind on ARCs and just didn’t get to The Mercy Makers. I’m bummed to have not gotten to Trials of the Jedi, but I still have one more High Republic book to read before I can pick it up. Here’s hoping I can manage to finish the books I pick this month!

July 2025 Hopefuls

I’m sticking with six books again for July. I’ve once again split the TBR into two parts: chosen books and categories with a range of potential hopefuls. July’s chosen books are mostly ARCs I need to read this month (The Nightshade God by Hannah Whitten, The Bewitching by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, and The Undercutting of Rosie and Adam by Megan Bannen). I’ve also included Morning Star by Pierce Brown because I need to make more progress on this series if I’m going to get caught up on it by the end of the year. Finally, the categories I’ve chosen to focus on this month are overdue ARCs and book box picks. So, ARCs will definitely be a high priority this month as they take up more than half of my “planned” reading.
Overdue ARC
I’ve been fairly okay at keeping up with this year’s ARCs, but a few have slipped through the cracks. These three Orbit titles are some of the ones I need to get finished ASAP. Two of them released in June, and the other was published in April. Both of those months were absolutely stacked with releases, but hopefully I can get caught up on one or more of these this month.

Engines of War by R.S. Ford, Forged for Destiny by Andrew Knighton, The Mercy Makers by Tessa Gratton
Book Box Pick
I still need to focus on reading the books I get in my monthly subscriptions. So, I chose once again to make a pick from recent book boxes one of my categories. Here are a few of the books that I am considering:

Upon a Starlit Tide by Kell Woods, A Treachery of Swans by A.B. Poranek, Of Jade and Dragons by Amber Chen
Well. Those are my July 2025 hopefuls. I’d love to read everything listed on this page, but that is unlikely. If I make it through six of them, I’ll consider July to be a success! Do we have any hopefuls in common this month? Happy reading!
Looking forward to reading your thoughts on THE NIGHTSHADE GOD. And I am *terrible* at reading my monthly book box picks even though most of them are books I want to read. I’m just swamped, as usual, even though I have cut back on ARC requests.
The Undercutting of Rosie and Adam is high on my July TBR too. I’m looking forward to hearing what you think about The Nightshade God so I hope that you pick that one up soon.
I hope that you enjoy which ever of these you decide to read.
I recently read of jade and dragon, curious to know your thoughts on it when you get to it
I hope to get to it soon! I’ll definitely be posting my thoughts in either a review or a WWW Wednesday post once I’m done.
