Book Haul – March 2023

This month was absolutely bonkers for book acquisitions. My Book Outlet order arrived, and it was so heavy I could barely lift the box. lol. Gotta love those great sales. I also went a bit wild on Pango, but I also sold a couple things on there… So, it evens out right? (No. It really doesn’t, especially since I bought way more than I sold.) All of my library holds arrived at the same time, as usual. On the bright side, I’ve already read and returned all the library books in this post. Yay me! 🙂 So, the books aren’t getting added to my ever-expanding TBR. Luckily, this was a pretty quiet ARC month, as well. My self control in that regard is still holding pretty steady. Fingers crossed that continues because the last thing I need right now is to add a new stack of ARCs to the mix.

Manga Monday – On or Off Vols. 1 & 2 / March Manga Haul

It has been forever since I’ve done a Manga Monday post… mostly because I haven’t been reading any manga for a while. I stumbled upon used copies of a BL manga on Pango and couldn’t resist ordering the first two volumes. (Side note: Pango has become a damn addiction… I’ve ordered so much stuff, and I cannot seem to stop. Please send help before I’m buried alive under all the book mail.) My wife has been trying to get me to read BL manga forever, and now I see why. I devoured the two volumes in one day and immediately went in search of others. Let’s just say I now have enough to last a while, which you’ll see down below. lol. First things first, though, here’s what I thought of the first two volumes of On or Off by A1.

Book Haul – February 2023

For such a short month, I sure did haul a lot of great books. I was hoping I’d spend less in February, but I actually ended up spending even more than in January, $176.91 not including book boxes. I got tons of great stuff, though. I think at least part of my increased shopping this month was due to feeling like crap for half of the month thanks to COVID. Once I was better, I wanted to celebrate and couldn’t think of a better way than new books. lol. I didn’t use the library quite as much in February, but I’m more than making up for it in March already. I’ve had what seems like a billion holds come in all at once, which is both stressful and exciting. It is also important to note that I unhauled 20 books in February, as well. So, I made a little space on my shelves for all the newbies. 🙂

Book Haul – January 2023

January was a really great start to the year in regards to book acquisitions. I relied on the library a surprising amount, but I also purchased quite a bit because so many books were still 50% off a B&N. In total, I spent $143 on books in January, not counting book boxes. Luckily, I was lighter than usual on the ARCs. Maybe I’m beginning to learn a little self control? Probably not. lol. Although, now that I’ve been auto-approved by Orbit on NetGalley, the real test begins. Without further ado, here is everything I got my hands on last month:

Book Haul – December 2022

I got so much great stuff last month! I definitely don’t have a shortage of awesome things to read in 2023. lol. I got so many ARCs I want to read right now. Of course, I also bought stuff at the B&N 50% off sale and purchased some of the books from my 12 friends, 12 months, 12 books challenge. The month was a great close to 2022 on the book acquisition front!

Book Haul – November 2022

There were so many sales this month. So, this was not (entirely) my fault. You should all know by now that I have NO self control. Many of the ebooks I “bought” were either free or heavily discounted, and I couldn’t pass that up. Does it add to my ever-expanding TBR at an unsustainable rate? Of course, but I’ve given up on the illusion that I’ll ever read all the books I get. lol. Luckily, it was a pretty light NetGalley month because December is turning out to be the month of the eARCs so far. I got a few awesome physical ARCs from Orbit that I’m super excited about reading, as well. On the physical purchase front, I bought some signed books and special editions of things I’ve already purchased/read in the past along with a few new releases I’ve been looking forward to reading. The library haul was a bit light again last month because I had a ton of stuff to read already, especially ARCs. All in all, this was a truly stacked month of books I’m looking forward to (hopefully) reading soon.

Book Haul – October 2022

This was a slower month all around. Thank goodness. I only got four new eARCs, a handful each of digital and physical purchases, and one library book. I’ve even already read several of them! So, my TBR didn’t explode too much last month, which is good because the past couple of months have seen it swell by staggering amounts. Now I just need to focus on getting them all read. lol. I’m definitely convinced that reading and collecting books are two very distinct hobbies…

Book Haul – September 2022

It has been a couple months since I’ve done a book haul post, but I’ve only focused on September for this one because this list is unwieldy enough. I’ve been lucky to get some great ARCs, and I took advantage of the deep discounts during the audible sale. 🙂 The library also provided quite a few books and audiobooks, including both of the Emily Henry books I’d been waiting for. All in all, I acquired or borrowed a lot of great stuff that I’m sure I’ll be reading for years to come!

Book Haul – July 2022

I was doing great at keeping my book purchases down for the first couple weeks of this month. Then the BOGO 50% off all hardbacks happened at B&N, and all my plans got derailed. I also got approved for quite a few eARCs this month, many of which are sequels that I am very excited to read. Overall, it has been a great month of book acquisitions, and I’m happy to have them all even if it has caused my TBR to continue ballooning uncontrollably. lol.

Book Haul – June 2022

After the buying sprees last month, I really wanted to have more self control in June, and I succeeded, for the most part. I only received five eARCs, which is so much less than last month. I also only “bought” one ebook because it was part of a free promotion on Amazon. The most shocking thing, however, is that I only bought five physical copies this month, which is quite low compared to recent months. I did use the library a lot, though. I checked out five digital books and three physical ones. Overall, I’m glad I was able to give my shelves a break for a bit, and I hope to continue this trend in July because August is an absolute smorgasbord of new releases I’ve had my eye on for a while.
