Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?
What did you read last?
I got a little off track from my plan this week. I finished In the Shadow of Lightning and The Charm Offensive as planned. Both were really good. I loved the world-building, intrigue, and characters of In the Shadow of Lightning, and The Charm Offensive was super cute with great mental health rep. Then things sort of went off the rails. lol. I planned to finish my library books and June ARCs this week, but I just kept staring at Heat Wave on my Kindle. I’ve had the ARC since March and have been putting it off because there’s always something else I need to read first. I finally decided to just go for it, and I’m glad I did. I’ve also managed to read some comics (Yay!), and I read the first five of my BBNYA abstracts. So, despite going off the plan, it has been a pretty productive reading week.
What was my favorite of the week? All three of these books were solid 4-star reads for me. So, the choice pretty much comes down to my love for The Extraordinaries series. Heat Wave was a good conclusion to the trilogy, and it was so fun to be back in that world with those characters. If you want superheroes who are queer and extra AF, this is definitely the series for you.

What are you currently reading?
I’ve been reading Rise of the Renegade Child by Robert Roth for the last couple days, and I’m approximately 60% of the way through it. I’m enjoying it so far. The world-building has been interesting, and the action has been exciting to read. I’m a sucker for stories with a conspiracy that must be unraveled, and this one definitely delivers.

What will you read next?
Now I’ve got to try to catch up. lol. I have to read The Blood Traitor by Saturday before the library takes it back. So, it is definitely up next. I’m not too sure what I’ll read after that, but it will likely be one of these other three options. We’ll see.

What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think? Let me know in the comments!
After reading it on/off for the past week I finally finished The Charm Offensive yesterday and ah, those sweet beans really pulled on those heart strings. The mental health rep was great! I’ve got Silk Fire on my TBR as well and honestly, I’m not that excited about it anymore after hearing what a mess it is… Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it though (if you get to and through it)! Happy reading 🙂

Yeah. I’ve seen that a lot of people don’t like Silk Fire. Based on what they’ve said, it might be my first DNF for NetGalley, but I’m gonna at least give it a shot.
