Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?
What did you read last?
The Unmaking of June Farrow by Adrienne Young – 3.75⭐ – I loved the first half of this book. The mystery of June’s mental illness had me hooked, and I was fascinated watching her slowly piece things together about her family history. The murder mystery that became the focus of the second half of the book was pretty obvious to me. The logic of how everything wrapped up didn’t really make much sense to me either, but I’m not going to say anything else about it because I don’t want to delve into spoilers. All in all, this was enjoyable with beautiful writing but definitely had some flaws.
Traitor of Redwinter by Ed McDonald – 4⭐ – I wrote a pretty long review of this book. So, I’m not going to rehash it all here. I’ll just say that it was a solid sequel. However, it was slow and intensely focused on character rather than plot for large swaths of the story. The ending blew me away, though, and set the stage for an epic finale in the next book. See all my thoughts in my review.

What are you currently reading?
Midnight Strikes by Zeba Shahnaz (11%) – This is my TBR Tin pick for this month. It’s good so far. It is a fantasy involving a time loop. I’m not too far into it. So, I don’t have that much to say yet…
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas (45%) – I’m still enjoying this one. The competition to be the king’s champion isn’t nearly as brutal as I was expecting, though.
Making It So by Patrick Stewart (78%) – I’ve loved Patrick Stewart in X-Men and Star Trek. I’ve learned so much about him from this book. I had no idea that he had such a huge career in theatre, and all the behind the scenes info on Star Trek has been interesting. I’ve been listening to this one, and I swear I could listen to this man read a phone book and still have a good time. lol.

What will you read next?

Dark Moon, Shallow Sea by David R. Slayton, Curious Tides by Pascale Lacelle, The Magician King by Lev Grossman
I hope you’ve all had a great week! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think? Let me know in the comments!
I’m in line for the Stewart book–library says it will be months before I get it. So annoying.
Hopefully they’ll order some more copies. It was supposed to be months before I got the Britney Spears book, and I’ve already gotten it two days after release because they added a ton of copies. Fingers crossed it doesn’t take forever!
Glad to see you’re enjoying MAKING IT SO. I’m still on the waitlist for it, but managed to request a physical copy of it when the list was short. So hopefully I’ll get it soon.
I hope it doesn’t take forever. I enjoyed the audiobook a lot. He’s had such an interesting life, and I was surprised by how much I didn’t know about him.
I’m hoping to pick up Making it So tomorrow from the library. I definitely agree about listening to him though. Maybe I need to invest in the audio book too?
I really liked the audiobook. I don’t think I would’ve enjoyed reading the physical copy as much.
I want to reread the Throne of Glass series. I got through all of them a few years ago besides the last book.
Everything except the last book?! That would drive me crazy. lol
Haha yeah. It wasn’t out yet and then I never got to it. 😂
