Today I’m participating in Top Ten Tuesday, which was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each week there is a new theme/topic, and participants choose ten books that fit it.
This week’s theme is Books I Meant to Read in 2023 but Didn’t Get To. There were so many books I didn’t manage to read in 2023. Unfortunately, there just isn’t enough time in the day to get to everything that catches my eye. These are the ten books that first came to mind when thinking of books I’d hoped to read before the end of last year. All covers link to Goodreads in case something catches your eye. 🙂

I really wanted to get to it last year because I loved the first three books in the series. It just didn’t happen. It does have such a cool cover. Most of the books in the series have covers I like. 🙂

OH. I totally forgot Crimson Fortress was a book that I want to read 😂 Like you said, there just isn’t enough time in the day to read everything especially when my mood gives me like 10 seconds to decide whether I want to read it or not, lol. I hope you enjoy these whenever you get to them though!
I had Crimson Fortress on hold at the library when it came out last year, but I let it expire because I had so many ARCs to read at the time. I’m hoping to be able to check it out again sometime soon, though. I’m glad I could remind you it exists! 🤣
The House of Always is on my list as I love Jenn Lyons. I picked Sword Catcher from the library yesterday. It wasn’t on my TBR but I’m interested to see what it’s like having only read City of Bones before this.
I’m definitely curious to see how Clare does with something outside the Shadowhunters world. I hope you enjoy it!

Johnston has actually written quite a few YA Star Wars books, including the Ahsoka one and a trilogy about Padme. I’ve enjoyed them and am looking forward to this new one. 🙂

I have that Jenn Lyons series but I haven’t read it yet. I will not let myself get another Clare book until I finish the last one I have. haha!! I do want to read that one though! 😀
I’m just curious to see what Clare does with something outside of the Shadowhunters universe. It keeps taunting me from my TBR cart, and I’ve been itching to pick it up. lol.

I’ve seen SWORD CATCHER on a bunch of lists this week. It’s not my genre, but it must be a much-anticipated title if it’s on the radar of so many readers. I hope you enjoy it and all these others when you get to them.

Clare is a pretty popular YA fantasy author and Sword Catcher is her first adult book. So, I’m sure lots of people are interested to see what she does with it. I know I am. 🙂
