Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?
What did you read last?
The Misfit Mage and His Dashing Devil by MN Bennet – 4⭐ – This was a fun introduction to a new series from this author. The characters had great chemistry and plenty of depth. I wanted a bit more from the world-building, but I generally liked the setup of it all. The plot and pace were steady, and I never felt bored while listening to this one. I plan to have a full review soon, hopefully tomorrow.
The Undermining of Twyla and Frank by Megan Bannen – 5⭐ – I loved this book so much! It executed the best friends to lovers trope really well, and the dragons were THE CUTEST THING EVER. I was so happy to have Duckers as a connecting thread to the first book, and the reveal of the “villain” had me cackling from the absurdity of it all. You can find all my thoughts in my review, but just know this one is a new favorite.
How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying by Django Wexler – 3.25⭐ – I wanted to enjoy this book so much more than I did. The humor was good, but it just felt out of place to me because of all the pop culture references. The plot was rather simple and surprisingly linear for a time loop story, but it worked pretty well. I enjoyed seeing Davi build up her horde of minions, and there were plenty of characters to root for in this band of “villains.” I’m not sure if I will read the sequel or not. I’ll probably read some reviews before making a decision.

What are you currently reading?
The Bound Worlds by Megan E. O’Keefe (37%) – I love this series so much, and this book is no exception so far. I’m excited to see how it all ends. I’ve already had a few jaw on the floor moments and expect there are more to come.
Temptation of the Force by Tess Gratton (6%) – I’m not too far into this one, but there’s already been some great character moments with some of the greats of The High Republic. I REALLY hope they don’t kill anyone I love in this one. It a High Republic book, though. So, the odds are not in my favor. lol.

What will you read next?

The Fire Within Them by Matthew Ward, Navola by Paolo Bacigalupi, The Sky on Fire by Jenn Lyons
I hope you’ve all had a great week! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments and feel free to link your WWW Wednesday posts there, as well. I’d love to see them!
LOVE the Dragons in Twyla and Frank!! I’m over halfway and loving it so much! I’m glad you did too 🙂
I read The Blighted Stars but I didn’t really enjoy it for some reason. I was surprised as it’s the sort of book that I would normally love. I’m definitely interested in the Undermining of Twyla and Frank though especially as it has dragons!
Twyla and Frank was such a great story! I hope you love it as much as I did. 🙂
I have just bought the first one 😀
I’m waiting for The Sky on Fire to come in at the library! I hope you enjoy your current reads!
My copy just arrived yesterday, and I want to start it so bad. I’m determined to finish my other reads first, though. I hope we both end up enjoying it! 🙂
[…] of Hart and Mercy is one that I bought after seeing Chris’s WWW Wednesday post this week on Biblionerd Reflections. This isn’t the book that he talked about in his post but I always like to start at the […]
Navola was in our voting pile at book club this week. We were trying to figure out what genre it was from the blurb. It didn’t quite make it across the line but there were plenty of us curious about it. I’ll look forward to seeing what you think of it.
