WWW Wednesday (121) – February 12, 2025

Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

What did you read last?

I finished three books since last Wednesday! I’m still on a roll and had a great time buddy reading with Dini and Celeste. On to the books…

Ocean’s Godori by Elaine U. Cho – 3⭐– Despite having really fascinating world-building, this book just did not work for me. The plot felt disjointed for way too long, and just when things were going somewhere, the book ended. It was one of the worst non-endings I’ve ever read. I get that there will be more books, but this installment needed to be wrapped up in a way that felt like it told a story. It did not. I don’t think I’ll be back for the sequel and am glad I didn’t buy this book. Library for the rescue!

Unhallowed Halls by Lili Wilkinson – 4.25⭐ – This was a great dark academia story with some horror and dark fantasy elements. The writing was engaging, and the plot was compulsively readable. The end was a bit chaotic, but it was definitely a fun ride. I loved buddy reading this with Dini. See all my thoughts in my review.

Greenteeth by Molly O’Neill – ???⭐ – I haven’t landed on a rating for this one yet, but I did enjoy buddy reading it with Celeste. The quirky vibes of the main character were really fun, and the adventure was quite entertaining. I just wish the quest hadn’t felt so pointless by the end, but the journey was still one I didn’t regret taking with these characters. Stay tuned for my full review in the coming days.

What are you currently reading?

I Think They Love You by Julian Winters (31%) – This is a pretty fun story so far. It did take a bit to find its footing, but now that the fake dating scheme is underway, I’m enjoying it a lot.

Emily Wilde’s Compendium of Lost Tales by Heather Fawcett (12%) – I’ve only just started this one, but I’m loving it so far. I’m going to be so sad to say goodbye to these characters at the end. However, I look forward to seeing how Wendell wins back his kingdom.

What will you read next?

Here is where this month’s TBR currently stands. I’ve finished two books and am on to another, which means I’m almost halfway done with my planned reads. 🙂

As the month goes on, I plan to continue to focus on some book box picks and mood reads:

Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yambao, A Fate Inked in Blood by Danielle L. Jensen, Witch Queen of Redwinter by Ed McDonald

I hope you’ve all had a great week! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments and feel free to link your WWW Wednesday posts there, as well. I’d love to see them!

  1. I have started seeing mixed reviews for Greenteeth! I’m nervous and I think I’m going to avoid all reviews, until I read it. haha. I Just got Water Moon in the mail a couple hours ago! It’s so pretty.
