It is time again to look forward to another month of book releases. There are SO MANY great June 2025 book releases. I had a lot of trouble narrowing this list down, which is why it is so long. June 3 releases alone could probably give me enough books to last for months of reading. lol. It is all a bit overwhelming. If you missed out on seeing the May books that I was excited to pick up, you can also find my most anticipated May 2025 releases here. Without further ado, here are 20 of my most anticipated June 2025 book releases (covers link to Goodreads):

Dimitri Abramovich may have won back the throne of Novo-Svitsevo, but even after defeating his former husband, the usurper Alexey Balakin, he seems no closer to securing lasting peace for his people. Enemies are closing in on all sides, and pressure is mounting for Dimitri to play the one card he has left in a bid for stability—offering his hand in marriage for a second time.
But Dimitri is still healing from the tragedies of the war, his return to the throne, and Alexey’s years of torment. Vasily Sokolov is the only person with whom he feels safe, and giving up the comfort of their budding relationship feels unfathomable, even if it’s the only way to sever the alliances being formed among the countries surrounding Novo-Svitsevo. So as Dimitri and Vasily reckon with political treachery, the lasting consequences of Dimitri’s resurrection, and the sinister legacy of Alexey’s use of the Holy Science, they must also work to understand what it means to love each other even as they prepare to let each other go—which might prove the most difficult of all.
#1 New York Times bestselling novelist Maggie Stiefvater dazzles in this mesmerizing portrait of an irresistible heroine, an unlikely romance, and a hotel—and a world—in peril.
January 1942. The Avallon Hotel & Spa has always offered elegant luxury in the wilds of West Virginia, its mountain sweetwater washing away all of high society’s troubles.
Local girl-turned-general manager June Porter Hudson has guided the Avallon skillfully through the first pangs of war. The Gilfoyles, the hotel’s aristocratic owners, have trained her well. But when the family heir makes a secret deal with the State Department to fill the hotel with captured Axis diplomats, June must persuade her staff—many of whom have sons and husbands heading to the front lines—to offer luxury to Nazis. With a smile.
Meanwhile FBI Agent Tucker Minnick, whose coal tattoo hints at an Appalachian past, presses his ears to the hotel’s walls, listening for the diplomats’ secrets. He has one of his own, which is how he knows that June’s balancing act can have dangerous consequences: the sweetwater beneath the hotel can threaten as well as heal.
June has never met a guest she couldn’t delight, but the diplomats are different. Without firing a single shot, they have brought the war directly to her. As clashing loyalties crack the Avallon’s polished veneer, June must calculate the true cost of luxury.
From the author of the international bestseller Lie with Me comes the tale of an affair between an aristocratic teenager and a soldier, as they discover the possibilities and perils of first love.
Summer, 1916. With German Zeppelins on the skyline, the men of Paris are off at war. For Vincent, sixteen and still too young to fight, this moment of dread is also a moment of possibility. An electrifying encounter with Marcel, an enigmatic middle-aged writer, draws Vincent’s desires out into the light. As he’s taken under Marcel’s wing, Vincent begins a dangerous affair with Arthur, the son of his governess and a young soldier on leave. Together, they share a secret that everyone seems to know and yet everyone remains silent about.
In this stunning portrait of young love, Philippe Besson depicts a young man who plays by his own rules and is not afraid of who he is. In the afternoons, Vincent is mentored by Marcel, the great novelist, in the city’s opulent cafés as they draw the judgment of society. And at night, he hides Arthur in his bedroom as the two risk everything to be together. Their affair initiates them into a world of pleasure and shields them from the encroaching war. During this magical week away from the trenches, Vincent shelters Arthur with happiness, reassuring him, “Nothing will happen to you.”
Tender and harrowing, In the Absence of Men captures how exhilarating and heart-crushing it is to fall in love for the first time. Besson’s award-winning novel “beautifully captures the romance and amorality of gilded youth” (The Independent).

I could’ve sworn I requested a copy of a A PALACE OF ILLUSIONS, but either I didn’t or it hasn’t been mailed yet. ☠️ But I just adore that cover. I’m interested in Parry’s newest, too, but decided to be good because I have too much (for me) already.
Huh. That’s weird. My copy was delivered months ago. The beautiful cover was the thing that sealed the deal for me, and I’m glad it did because I’m enjoying it so far.
There are so many great books on this list. I’m really interested in the Megan O’Keefe but I’m in two minds about Bury our Bones in the Midnight Soil as I’ve seen a few more negative reviews from people whose opinions often agree with mine. And it’s very long!
I’m curious to see what I’ll think of Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil. I’ve been staying away from reviews because it is a book I’ve been looking forward to for a while. I didn’t want to go in with preconceived notions. My copy arrived today. So, I plan to pick it up soon.
Hope you enjoy it
Well, that’s a pile of amazing sounding books. I’ve definitely added a few to my list to check out. Thanks for bringing these to my attention.
I hope you enjoy them!
I’ve definitely got my eye on BURY OUR BONES IN THE MIDNIGHT SOIL and THE TWO LIES OF FAVEN SYTHE!
My copies of both have recently arrived, and I just want to dive into them now. I’m forcing myself to finish some ARCs first, though.
