Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?
What did you read last?
I didn’t finish many books this past week, but I’ve enjoyed everything I read. Here is a look at the books I’ve finished in the last week since my last WWW Wednesday check-in:
An Amateur Witch’s Guide to Murder by K. Valentin (4⭐) – I’m not going to spend a ton of time discussing this one because I hope to get my review finished sometime tomorrow. However, it is safe to say that it is a great choice for spooky season if you enjoy light cannibalism, lots of sarcasm, and slow-burn MM romance.
A Far Better Thing by H.G. Parry (4.25⭐) – I really liked this book. The comparison to Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell was spot on. The faeries were mysterious and quite tricky with their bargains. The way the faerie world was incorporated into the French revolution was really interesting, and I had a great time trying to puzzle out the motivations of everyone involved. The story was an intricate web of deception and revenge that unsurprisingly led to the guillotine, and while confusing and slow at times, the reveals were well-earned. I definitely recommend it if you are looking for historical fantasy in this time period.

What are you currently reading?
Voidwalker by S.A. MacLean (2%) – I just started this one earlier today and am intrigued already. Starting a romantasy with human sacrifice is definitely a bold choice. I’m curious to see where the story goes from here.
Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie (2%) – This is another book that I started today. I’ve been interested in this series for a while and am looking forward to seeing where it takes me.
Katabasis by R.F. Kuang (79%) – The group buddy read is in its last week. The chapters from last week were really heavy and have generated some great discussion. Peter’s background was finally revealed, and it provided so much needed insight into his character. Alice has also grown quite a bit on this journey, and I loved finally seeing them be honest with each other. I’m stoked to see how it all ends!

What will you read next?
Hopefully, it will be one of these…

All of Us Murderers by KJ Charles, Savage Blooms by S.T. Gibson, Thirsty by Lucy Lehane
I hope you’ve all had a great week! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments and feel free to link your WWW Wednesday posts there, as well. I’d love to see them!
Voidwalker certainly sounds like it has a gripping opening. I’m looking forward to seeing what you think of it
