I can’t believe it is already October. This year is flying by, and last month felt like it disappeared in a blink. That being said, the start of a fresh month means it is time for a new TBR! I had to scramble to create this one because the end of the month snuck up on me somehow. lol. Without further ado, let’s dive into my October 2026 hopefuls and a brief recap of my reading from last month!
Recap of Last Month
The month of September really got away from me. I felt like I was constantly behind on everything, and the month seemed like it disappeared in a blink. It was busy outside of reading and blogging, as well. We’ve had a ton of rain, which led to us finding out about a roof leak. So, I’ve been trying to corral contractors so that we can get it fixed before winter arrives. Ugh. I’ve also been focused on some other home improvement projects and making a ton of tomato sauce from what we’ve picked out of our garden, which unfortunately meant less time for reading. However, I did manage to read four out of my six priority reads and one of my other hopefuls. As a reminder, here were my priority reads for last month, along with my rating for the ones I read:
- Thoughts Be Bloody by Auden Patrick (3.75⭐)
- Bodies of Magic by Freya Marske (4.25⭐)
- Bright and Broken Things by Ryan Graudin (RTC)
- Isn’t He Romantic by Adib Khorram (RTC)
- The Darkness Bites Back by Laura R. Samotin & Ben Alderson (NOT READ)
- The Invisible Roommate by Timothy Janovsky (NOT READ)

I also finished some other books in September for a total of 11 books, 4248 pages, and a tentative average rating of 3.97 stars, which will likely go up once I settle on a rating for the last two books I finished. Fantasy returned to the top genre spot again this month, and the books I chose to read were super gay, as usual. Here’s a quick look at everything I read along with some stats from StoryGraph:

October 2026 Priority Hopefuls

I’m sticking with six books again for my priority reads, including two holdovers from last month. All of them are once again ARCs, The Two Wills by Blair Fell, Scorpion Deep by CG Drews, Backwoods Banshee by David R. Slayton, Chateau Reverie by Natasha Siegel, The Darkness Bites Back by Laura R. Samotin & Ben Alderson, & The Invisible Roommate by Timothy Janovsky.
Other October 2026 Hopefuls
Since all of my priority reads are ARCs again this month, I think I’m going to stick with stacking my other hopefuls with some relatively recent releases I haven’t been able to pick up yet. With that in mind, here are all of my other October hopefuls:

The Weight of Angels by John Boyne, Be Still My Unbeating Heart by Josh Winning, Espiritu by Aiden Thomas, Half City by Kate Golden
Well. Those are my October 2026 hopefuls. I’d love to read everything listed on this page, but that is unlikely. If I make it through six of them, I’ll consider October to be a success! Do we have any hopefuls in common this month? Happy reading!
