Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?
What did you read last?
The Wonder Engine was a really great ending to the Clocktaur War duology. I liked that it was more focused on the romance and the heist than the first book, which was more adventure/quest. The character dynamics were still hilarious, and I loved the little creatures that helped them throughout the story. My Fair Brady was an excellent coming-of-age story about a boy learning the confidence to be his authentic self. It had a cute romance and plenty of teen angst. I liked the dual POV, and both boys were adorably clueless about their feelings. Fevered Star was an interesting follow-up to Black Sun. It had lots of political maneuvering, and I appreciated the journeys of each character. Everything just sort of felt like set up for the next book. Some of the emotional/character beats paid off by the end, especially for Serapio and Naranpa, but there wasn’t much of a climax to the story.

The Wonder Engine by T. Kingfisher (4.5⭐), My Fair Brady by Brian D. Kennedy (4.75⭐), Fevered Star by Rebecca Roanhorse (4⭐)
What are you currently reading?
Things are a bit of a mess right now. lol. I have been bouncing around between books because I just cannot find anything I’m in the mood to read. I’m enjoying each of them. I think I’m just in a restless mood, and it is hard for any of them to hold my attention for long. Since there are so many books this week, I’m not going to talk about each of them…

The Foxhole Court by Nora Sakavic (66%), The Trials of Empire by Richard Swan (40%), Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas (9%), Waiting for the Flood by Alexis Hall (59%), Swann’s Way by Marcel Proust (18%)
What will you read next?

Evergreen by Devin Greenlee, Voyage of the Damned by Frances White, Skater Boy by Anthony Nerada
I hope you’ve all had a great week! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think? Let me know in the comments!
I totally get the restless feeling when it comes to reading! I hope you continue to enjoy the ones you are currently working on. Hopefully the restlessness goes away soon lol.
I’m doing a little better now. I’ve managed to finish two books and have been working pretty consistently on the third. The restlessness is such a frustrating feeling.
You have the opposite “problem” of me right now, lol. I’ve been chained to one chonk of a book, no bouncing around for me, but the end is in sight! I’m enjoying the journey, but also looking forward to finishing my first book of the month haha. I hope you find that “it” book for you this month!
I saw that you finally finished your chonk of a book! I’m glad that you were able to prioritize it and get it read before things got spoiled for you. I’m doing a little better right now. I’ve managed to finish most of the books I was working on and am really into the one I’m reading now. 🙂
