WWW Wednesday (141) – August 6, 2025

Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

What did you read last?

I didn’t get around to participating in this meme last week. So, here is a quick look at the six books I’ve finished in the last two weeks since my last WWW Wednesday check-in:

Morning Star by Pierce Brown (3.5⭐), The Book of Lost Hours by Hayley Gelfuso (4⭐), The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst (3.75⭐), Looking for Group by Alexis Hall (3⭐), Prince and Assassin by Tavia Lark (4.5⭐), Forged for Destiny by Andrew Knighton (3.5⭐)

What are you currently reading?

Ascension by S.T. Gibson (48%) – I’m buddy reading this one with Celeste. I seem to be enjoying it a bit more than she is. The story is definitely slow and very character-focused with very little plot to it. I’m enjoying analyzing Rhys’s self-worth issues. lol. My inner psych nerd is having a blast.

The Lavender Blade by E.L. Deards (33%) – I’m having a bit of trouble staying engaged with this story. I don’t hate it, and the characters are interesting. The writing just isn’t that great.

A Curse Carved in Bone by Danielle L. Jensen (28%) – This is okay so far. It doesn’t feel like the story has progressed all that much in the first quarter, but it has set up the new group dynamic well. The consequences of the ending of the first book have definitely upped the dramatics between Bjorn and Freya. I’m curious to see where their relationship ends up by the end.

What will you read next?

One of these choices, Dragonfall, is a re-read that I want to do to prepare for reading the conclusion to the duology. I also REALLY want to read some recent releases that arrived in my mailbox not too long ago, Arcana Academy and Immortal Consequences.

Dragonfall by L. R. Lam, Arcana Academy by Elise Kova, Immortal Consequences by I. V. Marie

I hope you’ve all had a great week! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments and feel free to link your WWW Wednesday posts there, as well. I’d love to see them!

  1. Yes I need more plot and less character study lol. I got through about half of the curse carved in blood before I got distracted. Hoping to pick it back up later this month. It’s still kinda slower paced than the first book.
