The first of the month means that it is time for a new TBR! So, today I’m making a new one for September. Without further ado, let’s dive into my September 2025 hopefuls!

Recap of Last Month

Womp. Womp. lol. August was not my best reading month. I only finished half of my TBR, including Ascension, The Good Vampire’s Guide to Blood & Boyfriends, and my overdue ARC pick, He Who Drowned the World. I did manage to start on my book box pick with The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy, which I hope to finish in the next couple of days. I didn’t get to a re-read at all and ended up DNFing Wings of Steel and Fury. I was just super distracted by our new kitten, and every weekend had something going on that really limited my reading time.

September 2025 Hopefuls

I’m sticking with six books again for September. I’ve once again split the TBR into two parts: chosen books and categories with a range of potential hopefuls. September’s chosen books are a mix of ARCs for September and October releases (Exquisite Things by Abdi Nazemian, An Amateur Witch’s Guide to Murder by K. Valentin, & All of Us Murderers by KJ Charles) and Katabasis by R.F. Kuang, which I’m buddy reading with a group starting today. Finally, the categories I’ve chosen to focus on this month are book box picks and re-reads.

Book Box Pick

I still need to focus on reading the books I get in my monthly subscriptions. So, I chose once again to make a pick from recent book boxes one of my categories. Here are a few of the books that I am considering:

Re-Read

I’ve been in the mood to re-read recently. So, I’m going to try to make it a priority for this month. When Among Crows is the most likely pick. I need to re-read it before picking up the sequel (bonus: it’s short), but I also really need to re-read Dragonfall so that I can finish up that duology. I also want to start my re-read of the Grishaverse so that I can finally get around to reading the King of Scars duology, but we’ll see.
