WWW Wednesday (151) – July 29, 2026

Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

What did you read last?

Two WWW Wednesday’s in a row?! Who even am I? lol. Here is a look at the books I’ve finished in the last week:

The Sword-Witch’s Heart by Tavia Lark (4.25⭐) – I’m so glad I finally got around to finishing up this series. Leth and Avain were great characters, and I loved seeing them come to accept each other for who they were and fall in love. Leth’s journey toward acceptance of his own self-worth was also a compelling part of the adventure.

Arcana Academy by Elise Kova (4⭐) – I ended up quite liking this book despite my initial impressions from last week. The tarot magic system was really cool, and I got quite invested in the world-building and central relationship. I slowly came to realize that nothing was as it seemed, which explained a lot of the things I didn’t like about the beginning of the book. That being said, the first 20% or so was rough for me. I’m super curious to see where the story goes in the sequel.

We Burned So Bright by TJ Klune (4.5⭐) – 😭😭😭 That’s it. Those are my thoughts. lol. The last chapter of this book BROKE me. I was bawling. The writing did get a bit too on the nose and preachy at times, but it didn’t keep the gut punches from landing for me.

Sunsplitter by S.A. MacLean (79%) – I’m still reading and loving this book. The characters and relationships have even more depth than the first book, which is awesome. I can’t wait to see how the story wraps up and will hopefully be finishing it today.

Embers of Analon by Paul Michael Winters (30%) – I’m enjoying this fantasy read so far. It moves along at a good pace and has kept me engaged despite being pretty run of the mill. The protagonist is what you’d expect from new adult romantasy. He is a thief with a traumatic past who is determined to get revenge on the ruling class by stealing from them. He also has to take care of his little sister and starts falling in love with a random stranger with secrets of his own. It’s all quite fun and easy to read/listen to.

What will you read next?

My next ARC read will be International Relations, which is out next week. My next audiobook will be Doctor Who: The Deadliest Weapon, which is the next installment in the Circuit Breaker multimedia adventure starring the Fugitive Doctor. Finally, my next physical read will be the newest Star Wars book, Legacy, which follows the growing relationship between Leia and Rey between the events of The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. I’m looking forward to getting a better look at how their master/apprentice relationship developed.

International Relations by Zac Hammett, Doctor Who: The Deadliest Weapon by Steve Lyons, Star Wars: Legacy by Madeleine Roux

I hope you’ve all had a great week! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments and feel free to link your WWW Wednesday posts there, as well. I’d love to see them!

  1. Oooh, I’m excited to see your thoughts on International Relations! There is a zero percent chance that I’ll be reading it in August, because the library lines will be long for this one

I’m jumping into the new Klune soon though, and plan on having tissues ready!
