May 2025 Hopefuls (AKA My TBR)

The first of the month means that it is time for a new TBR! So, today I’m making a new one for May. You can find what I hoped to read in April here, and I plan to do a wrap-up at some point in the near future. Be on the lookout for that… Without further ado, let’s dive into my May 2025 hopefuls!

I’m sticking with six books for May because it has been a pretty successful number for me this year. Six books is doable and allows me plenty of flexibility. I’ve once again split the TBR into two parts: chosen books and categories with a range of potential hopefuls. May’s chosen books focus heavily on Star Wars, including The Mask of Fear by Alexander Freed (a holdover from last month’s TBR), Tears of the Nameless by George Mann, & Into the Light by Claudia Gray. The end of The High Republic series is rapidly approaching, and I need to catch up so that I’m ready. I’ve also just been in a Star Wars mood thanks to Andor, the Revenge of the Sith re-release, and the upcoming Star Wars Day. In addition to Star Wars books, I want to continue some other series, as well, by reading Golden Son by Pierce Brown & The Ashfire King by Chelsea Abdullah. The latter is also an overdue ARC…

Book Box Pick

I still need to focus on reading the books I get in my monthly subscriptions. So, I chose once again to make a pick from recent book boxes one of my categories. Here are a few of the books that I am considering:

The Phoenix Keeper by S.A. Maclean, The Mask of Mirrors by M. A. Carrick, Of Jade and Dragons by Amber Chen

Well. Those are my May 2025 hopefuls. I’d love to read everything listed on this page, but that is unlikely. If I make it through six of them, I’ll consider May to be a success! Do we have any hopefuls in common this month? Happy reading!

  1. I also still need to focus on my monthly book subs…guilty, here! I’m feeling rather overwhelmed with how many unread ones I have, tbh! I think that partly contributed to my passing over THE ASHFIRE KING as an ARC (which I hope you enjoy!).

  2. Ooh, those book box picks are also on my TBR to read. Would you be up for doing a buddy read perhaps? I’d be down to read any of those! Looks like a very Star Wars heavy reading list this month and that’s awesome! I hope you enjoy all of the books you get to 🙂

    • I’m actually about to start The Phoenix Keeper later today if you’d like to join me. I know it’s last minute, though. So, no worries if not. I’d be down to buddy read Of Jade and Dragons later this month, too, if you want. 🙂

The long-running High Republic series is coming to a close next month, which means I have lots of Star Wars books to catch up on in time for the finale. Lol. Hence, all the Star Wars in the TBR.
