Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?
What did you read last?
I only finished two books this week! I’ve continued to be outside gardening now that it is warming up. My wife and I have also been venturing out more, as well, to explore our new community. Andor and Doctor Who have also taken up some time that I’d usually spend reading. Here are the books I’ve read since my last check-in:
To Steal from Thieves by M.K. Lobb – 4⭐– I enjoyed this author’s debut duology. So, I was excited to see that my library had a digital copy of this new book. The characters and their relationships were all compelling, and I always enjoy a good heist. The magic and world-building were interesting, and I’m curious to see where things go in the sequel. The story did drag a bit in the middle, but I liked the characters enough that it didn’t bother me much.
Red Rising by Pierce Brown – 4.25⭐ – I finally read this book! It was really great dystopian sci fi. The hype is understandable, and I’m definitely invested in seeing how things play out over the course of the series. The competition part of the story felt drawn out at times, but it will compelling enough that I didn’t mind.

What are you currently reading?
The Last Hour Between Worlds by Melissa Caruso (62%) – I’m enjoying this one so far. That’s not a big surprise, though, because I love Caruso’s writing. The story has time loops and multiple layers of reality. It did take me some time to wrap my head around what was happening, but the world and characters are really cool.
Look Up, Handsome by Jack Strange (16%) – I’m struggling a bit with this one. I like the main character, but the situation with his bookshop just feels really forced. I don’t understand how he could be getting eviction notices for the shop, especially since he has a consistently paid mortgage on the flat above it. I’m wondering if the situation is just confusing to me because of cultural differences in the way property is handled, but it is just an odd setup.

What will you read next?
I really have no idea. lol. My three picks from last week still need to be read, but I don’t know.
I hope you’ve all had a great week! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments and feel free to link your WWW Wednesday posts there, as well. I’d love to see them!
THE LAST HOUR BETWEEN WORLDS is on my tbr too (thanks illumicrate!), but I’ve no idea when I’ll get to it. 😅 Glad you’re enjoying it, though!
I ended up really liking it once I wrapped my head around everything that was going on. The Illumicrate copy is GORGEOUS. I love the art on the naked hardback so much. I’m going to be super disappointed if they don’t continue doing special editions for the rest of the series.
I really loved The Last Hour Between Worlds although it did take me a while to get my head around what was happening as it was so unusual. I loved Red Rising too and read the next two although my interest definitely waned and I’ve not bothered with the latest I did like the Ancient Roman/Sci Fi mash up though.
I just finished The Last Hour Between Worlds yesterday, and I really loved it, too. I’m very curious to see where the series goes next. I tend to love Caruso’s later books even more than the first in her series. So, I’m excited about the potential.
