Stacking the Shelves (20) – August 28, 2021

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! The meme is hosted by Reading Reality.

Weekly Wrap-Up

This week has been a roller coaster. I was anxious most of the week about getting my CT results, which ended up being for nothing because everything came back okay. Despite having a small spot in my lung, it has remained stable, which means no evidence of recurrence yet (and hopefully never). Cancer sucks! Then I felt better because of the good news just to get stressed out over this hurricane. My partner and I are safe, but her parents are evacuating to stay with us until it is safe for them to go back home. I was already on edge because it was one year ago that my parents lost their home due to a hurricane (for the third time in my adult life), and now this hurricane looks to be almost as bad. Last year we had people stay with us for weeks before it was safe for them to return home. I really hope the forecasts have it wrong and things won’t be as bad as they expect…but we’ll see. On the bright side, I’ve enjoyed what I read this week and gave two 5-star reviews, which were for A History of Madness and Six of Crows.

NetGalley eARC

I was approved for a new NetGalley eARC. I’ve seen this book around a lot on Twitter, and the cover is gorgeous. So, I was excited to see it pop up on NetGalley.

Amazon eBook

I decided to buy one ebook this week because I earned double the points during a promo. I’ve had my eye on this one for a while. So, I pulled the trigger and got it.

Comic Books

I also picked up quite a few comics this week. I’m still behind on reading them because I’ve been focused on my readathon TBR, but I plan to get to them soon!

Final Thoughts

Overall, it hasn’t been the best week, but my reading, as usual, has been a bright spot. Keep everyone in Louisiana in your thoughts this weekend and send positive vibes that this storm will not be as bad as expected.

Have you read any of the books I picked up? If so, what did you think? Are any of these on your TBR? Let me know in the comments below!
