Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?
What did you read last?
Swordcrossed by Freya Marske – 4⭐ – I have high expectations when it comes to Marske’s work because I loved her recent trilogy, The Last Binding. This one took some time to suck me in, but I had fun with it. I adored the main characters and their relationship dynamic. The world-building was just a bit of a letdown, but it all came together well in the end. You can find all my thoughts in my review.
The Book of Love by Kelly Link – 4⭐ – I read weird stuff pretty frequently, but this book might be the weirdest one I’ve picked up in a while. There was so much to take in, and the cast of characters was expansive, almost bordering on unwieldy. I’m honestly not even sure how to put my experience with this into words. I enjoyed it for the most part and found it fascinating. However, I don’t think it will be for everyone.
A Promise of Peridot by Kate Golden – 3.75⭐ – This was a solid sequel, but I do think it fell victim to second book syndrome. Many of the book’s events felt a little pointless by the end, but the ending was shocking and sets up what will likely be a riveting end to the trilogy. There was plenty of relationship drama in the story, especially centered around trust issues, and there was definitely more heat in this book than the first. I think anyone who enjoys romantasy will like this series because it is an exciting ride that hits many popular tropes.
The Quicksilver Court by Melissa Caruso – ???⭐ – I haven’t decided on my rating for this one yet, but it is safe to say I loved it. I become an even bigger fan of Caruso with every book of hers I read. I can’t wait to dive into the final book of the trilogy. I’ll have a review up with all of my thoughts (hopefully) later this week.

What are you currently reading?
You Should Be So Lucky by Cat Sebastian (4%) – I’ve only just started this one, but I’m loving it so far. I love Sebastian’s writing and her ability to make me instantly care about her characters.
Can’t Spell Treason without Tea by Rebecca Thorne (21%) – I’m making my way through this one fairly quick. The tone is pretty light-hearted despite having some murdery bits, and I’m enjoying following the characters through their journey of opening up a book shop.

What will you read next?

When Among Crows by Veronica Roth, Relics of Ruin by Erin M. Evans, Running Close to the Wind by Alexandra Rowland
I hope you’ve all had a great week! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think? Let me know in the comments!
Looks like you had a great week of reading! What you’ve said makes me glad that I haven’t rushed to pick up Golden’s sequel. I barely recall what happened in the first book even though I remember I enjoyed it overall, but I think I’ll wait until the final book comes out before continuing, lol. Can’t Spell Treason without Tea sounds so fun and cosy! I’m keen to see what you think of it. I hope you enjoy all your reads and have a great week ahead, Chris!
Swordcrossed has such a gorgeous cover! I haven’t read from Marske before, but I’m glad you enjoyed this — definitely has my interest now. 😉 I’ve heard really good things about When Among Crows as well. It’s been ages since I’ve read from Veronica Roth, and maybe I’ll like her adult books more than her YA? I’ll be looking forward to your thoughts, Chris! 🙂
