Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?
What did you read last?
Here is a look at the three books I’ve read since my last WWW Wednesday check-in:

The Undercutting of Rosie and Adam by Megan Bannen – 4⭐– This finale was the weakest of the trilogy for me, but I still enjoyed it. The plot did lull quite a bit, but I liked the opposites attract dynamic of the main pairing. My main complaint, though, was that this book should have been centered on Duckers. Oh well. Read all my thoughts in my review!

God of Neverland by Gamma Ray Martinez – 3.25⭐– I bought this years ago based on a whim because I liked the cover. I finally got around to reading it! The story inside was fun and fast-paced. However, the events didn’t really have any room to breathe, and I never connected with the characters because the book spent all its time racing ahead to the next part of the adventure. I probably won’t be continuing with the series.

Engines of War by R.S. Ford – ???⭐– I plan to have a review up for this book later in the week, but it is safe to say I really enjoyed it. I just don’t have the final rating nailed down quite yet. So, be on the lookout!
What are you currently reading?
The Nightshade God by Hannah Whitten (27%) – I’m liking this so far. This final part of the story has opened the world up some, and I’m enjoying the new locales. Although, it has come at the cost of splitting up the characters, which I kind of hate. They have such a great dynamic together, and I’m missing the court intrigue from the first two books a lot.
A Valiant Vow by Justina Ireland (33%) – I just started this one earlier today, and I’m flying through it. It is another great middle grade installment so far with lots of returning characters. It’s so nice to see Imri again and explore how much he’s grown over the course of the series. I am a bit confused by some details of the story, though, and feel like I missed something big somewhere despite reading all of the books in order. Maybe in the comics? Idk.
Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Volume I by Daniel Jose Older (20%) – My confusion with aspects of A Valiant Vow led me to pick up the first trade paperback of the High Republic Adventures comic. This is the only comic that I haven’t followed this phase because it is a bit harder to find than the Marvel stuff. I ended up getting all the trade paperbacks that have been released for my Kobo so that I can get caught up. 🙂

What will you read next?
One of these choices, The Bewitching, is an ARC that releases next week. I also still need to start my audio re-read of The Magicians before the library takes it back. Finally, I hope to start on the next installment of the Red Rising trilogy.

The Bewitching by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Morning Star by Pierce Brown, The Magicians by Lev Grossman
I hope you’ve all had a great week! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments and feel free to link your WWW Wednesday posts there, as well. I’d love to see them!
The Bewitching looks so good! Moreno-Garcia makes such compelling stories. Hope you enjoy!
Thanks! She really does write such great stories. I’m looking forward to this one. 🙂
