WWW Wednesday (26) – November 2, 2022

Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

What did you read last?

I spent most of the week listening to The Atlas Paradox by Olivie Blake. I enjoyed this sequel and was surprised by some of the directions it took. It did suffer a bit from middle book syndrome, but I liked getting to know these characters even better. Of course, there was still plenty of drama, as well, which continued to be entertaining. I also read Paris Daillencourt Is About to Crumble, which was a compelling look at the difficulties of living and loving with anxiety. It was marketed as a romcom, though, and I didn’t find the romance to be the focus of the book. Finally, I read White Trash Warlock by David R. Slayton. I loved the characters and story, but the writing made it a bit difficult for me to follow the settings and timeline at some points in the story. I finally decided to DNF Empire of the Vampire for now. I liked it, but I just wasn’t in the mood for it. So, I’m gonna move on.

What was my favorite of the week? My favorite this week was The Atlas Paradox by Olivie Blake. The characters just make this book and series one that shouldn’t be missed if you like dark academia. The magic and world-building in this sequel was really cool too. 🙂

What are you currently reading?

I just started Empire of Exiles yesterday, and I’m enjoying it so far. The magic system is quite unique, and I’m looking forward to learning more about it and the history of the world. I’ve also started listening to The Last Enchantment. I’m loving this Arthurian saga from the perspective of Merlin, and I’m on track to finish the series by the end of the year, which was one of the goals I set in January. Finally, I’m about halfway through Quest for the Hidden City, the newest middle grade High Republic novel. I’m loving this wave of novels so far because of the context it is adding to the stories from phase one.

What will you read next?

I still haven’t finished listening to the Captive Prince Trilogy. So, I’m going to include it here again in the hope that the third time is the charm. I’m also going to read a couple more ARCs that I’ve been looking forward to.

I hope you’ve all had a great week! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Ooh, lots of great books! I enjoyed White Trash Warlock as well but I do agree with you about getting confused with timelines/settings at times. I’m still looking forward to reading the next book though 😃 I hope you enjoy all your current+upcoming reads!
