Hello, everyone! My semi-hiatus is finally over, and it was a really great couple of weeks. I’ve read some really great books, had a wonderful holiday, and bought/received a ton of new books. Today I’ll be briefly wrapping up the last couple of weeks, giving an update on my reading progress, and showing you all the new books I’ve gotten.
Personal Updates
These past few weeks have been pretty busy. I spent quite a bit of time updating and re-formatting old blog posts. I had hoped to be done with it by now, but the work has been much more time consuming and tedious than I initially expected. I also finished Christmas shopping and wrapped all the gifts. Our original Christmas plans were unfortunately cancelled because my in-laws became ill (non-COVID-related, thank goodness). So, instead of traveling out of town, we spent Christmas Eve and Day with my parents a little closer to home. There was lots of good food and presents, and we spent most of Christmas Day watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars. All in all, it was a pretty great holiday.
Reading Progress
I read quite a bit during the hiatus and made significant progress on my Reindeer Readathon goal, which you can see below. I’m a little behind the pace that I planned, though. So, I’m going to have to pick it up a bit for these last few days of the year. I’m up to 137 books for the year, and I’m hoping to get to 140. We’ll see how the next few days go.

Book Hauls
I bought/received so many books over the last few weeks. I got a $40 Amazon gift card for Christmas from my sister-in-law, and you know it all went to books for my Kindle. There were some great sales, and I was able to get a ton of stuff. I also received two new ARCs and bought a physical copy of The Fire of the Fallen by J.C. Duncan because I still haven’t gotten around to reading the eARC. I plan to make the book one of my first reads of 2022, though, because I have been looking forward to it and feel guilty I didn’t get it read prior to publication.

In case you somehow missed it, Barnes & Noble had a two day sale where all hardcovers in the store were 50% off. Needless to say, I made multiple trips and went a little bit crazy with the purchases (shocking no one I’m sure). I’m excited about all of these and can’t wait to read them… eventually.

Last but not least, my parents gave me a couple books for Christmas! Little Thieves and The Empire’s Ruin were both one of my top 5 wishlist books, and I was so happy to find them under the tree. 🙂

That’s it for now. I’ll be wrapping up my 2021 across several posts in the coming days. So, be sure to be on the lookout for those. Until then, I hope you enjoy this week where time seems to be a bit meaningless. 😂
