2024 Releases I Was Excited to Read but Still Haven’t Gotten To – Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday - Books Set in a School

Today I’m participating in Top Ten Tuesday. This meme was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each week there is a new theme/topic, and participants choose ten books that fit it.

This week’s theme is 2024 releases I was excited to read but still haven’t gotten to. This was a fun topic despite it causing a bit of shame at seeing all the books I didn’t get to last year. lol. I perused all of my anticipated releases lists from January to July to find my choices for this week. I’d love to read some of these soon, but I’ve learned not to say I’ll prioritize stuff. If I do, that’s usually the books it takes me years to read. All covers link to Goodreads in case something catches your eye. 🙂

Dungeons and Drama by Kristy Boyce, A Fragile Enchantment by Allison Saft, Bride by Ali Hazelwood, The Book of Doors by Gareth Brown, The Truth of the Aleke by Moses Ose Utomi

Otherworldly by F.T. Lukens, The Book That Broke the World by Mark Lawrence, Dreadful by Caitlin Rozakis, Black Tide Son by H. M. Long, The Bright Sword by Lev Grossman

There you have it! Ten 2024 releases I was excited to read but still haven’t gotten to. What 2024 releases did you not make it to last year? Let me know down in the comments!

  1. Ooo I’ve actually read three of these. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Bride, but I’m also really picky about werewolves. I liked MOST of Bright Sword, and I really, really enjoyed A Fragile Enchantment. I hope you end up enjoying all of these!

    • I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews about Bride and A Fragile Enchantment. I’m especially curious to see what I think about A Fragile Enchantment since I’ve liked one of Saft’s other books.

  2. Nothing like a good ol’ self-shaming moment (cos literally same). 😂 I had Bride and Otherworldly on my list today too but Dreadful can go on there as well really cos I totally forgot about how excited I was about getting to that title! I hope you enjoy these whenever you get around to them!

    • I’m really looking forward to Dungeons & Drama and its sequel. I hope to get to them soon. I’ve seen a lot of mixed things about Bride. So, I’m curious to see what side I’ll fall on once I read it, especially since I haven’t read any other Hazelwood books.

  3. I really liked Bride! I did not like A Fragile Enchantment though.. it just wasn’t for me. I have Book of Doors on my lower TBR, but I’ve seen it on a lot of lists today.
