Monthly Wrap-Up: May & June 2025

monthly wrap-up

Welcome to my monthly wrap-up for May & June 2025! I never got around to writing a wrap-up for May for no reason other than I just didn’t feel like doing it. lol. So, I’ve decided to combine the information for the past two months into one post.

First, let’s start with a garden update. This is for you, Celeste! 🙂 I got lots of stuff planted in May. The squash, green beans, banana peppers, bell peppers, lima beans, and okra all went into the ground. They are all thriving. I’ve already picked and eaten some bell peppers and banana peppers. The squash, green beans, and lima beans are all flowering right now. So, hopefully we’ll get some to eat before too long. Our planter of strawberries is consistently giving us some delicious berries, as well. We also discovered that we have a bunch of mulberry trees in our new yard. We’ve been munching on them for almost a month, now. Unfortunately, our lettuce and green onions didn’t really thrive, and the potatoes caught a fungus. I managed to save the potatoes with pruning and anti-fungal treatments, but the lettuce and green onions were a bust. I plan to start harvesting some potatoes in the next couple of weeks. So, we’ll see how that goes. We also bought a tomato plant in a planter, and it is growing tomatoes like crazy. I’m just waiting for them to ripen.

On the blogging front, things have been hit or miss. I have had some bursts of inspiration where I consistently posted and other weeks where I barely looked at the blog at all… Let’s not dwell on that, though. Now on to the monthly wrap-up!

Most Anticipated July 2025 Book Releases

December 2023 Book Releases - Header

It is time again to look forward to another month of book releases. I was hoping July would be a bit slower than June on the releases front, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. There are once again SO MANY great July 2025 book releases.

I’m merging this monthly post with this week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic, Most Anticipated Books Releasing in the Second Half of 2025. Doing both posts individually this week just felt a bit too repetitive. So, I decided to just focus on July 2025 book releases instead of the entire second half of 2025. Feel free to return each month to see all of my anticipated releases for the second half of 2025. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.

If you missed out on seeing the June books that I was excited to pick up, you can also find my most anticipated June 2025 releases here. Without further ado, here are 20, YES TWENTY, of my most anticipated July 2025 book releases (covers link to Goodreads):

Pride Flag Book Tag (2025)

It is already the last week of Pride month. So, I thought it was the perfect time to do the Pride Flag Book Tag again. I seem to only do this tag during odd years for whatever reason. Most likely, it takes me two years to have new queer books that correspond with each prompt as some of them are quite specific (e.g., religion, personal catharsis). This tag was created by Common Spence on Youtube. You can find my first attempt at this tag here and my second here. For the tag, I’ll be picking books that I think embody the meanings of each of the colors in the Pride flag. You can find out more about a book by clicking on its cover, which will take you to the book’s Goodreads page.

Books on My Summer 2025 to-Read List – Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday - Books Set in a School

Today I’m participating in Top Ten Tuesday. This meme was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each week there is a new theme/topic, and participants choose ten books that fit it.

This week’s theme is Books on My Summer 2025 to-Read List. I actually did okay with my spring list. I read 6 out of the 10 books that I chose. That’s most likely due to many of them being ARCs. lol. Hopefully, summer will be just as successful (or more). Let’s take a look at what I hope to read before the summer is over… The covers link to the Goodreads page of each book in case something catches your eye!
