Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! The meme is hosted by Reading Reality.
Hello, everyone! I hope you have had a great week. This has been a pretty busy week for me. I’ve gotten quite a bit done around the house and was able to do some landscaping work in my yard thanks to the cooler weather. My mom had surgery yesterday, and I’ve spent some time helping her out. The surgery went well, and she is on the mend. It has also been a pretty huge week on the reading front! I finished my Goodreads annual reading goal of 100 books this week! I have never read that much in a single year before. I normally average between 15 and 30 books per year. So, I’m pretty excited to have achieved my larger goal. I don’t plan to stop reading, though, because there are a ton of great books I want to get to before the year ends. This week I reviewed The Shadow of the Gods and the first two books in The Dark Is Rising sequence.
Barnes & Noble
I went to Barnes & Noble for Iron Widow and Under the Whispering Door. I also walked out with Among Thieves, which my wife found on booktok and wanted me to pick up, and Empire of the Vampire.
I got another eARC this week, which looks looks like an interesting read. Now that my Goodreads challenge is over, I plan to try to get to a total of 25 completed NetGalley reviews by the end of the year. We’ll see if I can pull it off…
I met Lucas Delrose on Twitter this week, and, if you are not following him already, you should be. After chatting with him, I checked out his book, and it sounds pretty great. So, I picked it up for my Kindle.
This was a pretty typical comics week numbers wise, but there were several new books that I picked up this week. I plan to finish catching up with Star Wars and Spider-Man this week so that I can begin to focus on some other comics, as well. I read quite a bit of Star Wars and all of W.E.B. of Spider-Man in the last week. So, I’m making some progress…
Overall, it’s been a pretty good week, and I’m hoping the fall weather sticks around for a while. I enjoy sitting on my patio and reading, and the weather this week was perfect for it. So, I’m gonna need summer to go away real quick, but I know that is very unlikely here in Louisiana.
Have you read any of the books I picked up? If so, what did you think? Are any of these on your TBR? Let me know in the comments below!
