New-to-Me Authors I Discovered in 2024 – Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday - Books Set in a School

Today I’m participating in Top Ten Tuesday, which was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each week there is a new theme/topic, and participants choose ten books that fit it.

This week’s theme is New-to-Me Authors I Discovered in 2024. I read quite a few authors last year that I’d been wanting to try for quite some time. It made narrowing down this list kind of difficult. lol. I’ve included both the authors and the book that made me fall in love with their writing. All covers link to Goodreads in case something catches your eye. 🙂

Evocation by S.T. Gibson, A Dark and Drowning Tide by Allison Saft, These Burning Stars by Bethany Jacobs, The Sins on Their Bones by Laura R. Samotin, The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

The Warm Hands of Ghosts by Katherine Arden, Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli, Voyage of the Damned by Frances White, The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett, The Mars House by Natasha Pulley

There you have it! Ten new-to-me authors I discovered in 2024. What new authors did you read last year? Let me know down in the comments!

  1. Oh, I totally forgot about Ciccarelli and White even though I loved both of those books! There were just too many authors to choose from 🫣 This is a great list and I hope you continue discovering more amazing new authors in 2025!

  2. I have 2 of S.T. Gibson’s books on the shelf and still have yet to make time. It’s been a long time since I’ve read Robert Jackson Bennett, but his Divine Cities was an interesting series.

    • I still need to read A Dowry in Blood by Gibson. It has been on my shelf for a while. I’m looking forward to it after how much I enjoyed the more recent books.

The Tainted Cup was my first book by Bennett, and I definitely plan to read more of his work.
