February 2026 Hopefuls (AKA My TBR)

A new month means that it is time for a new TBR! So, today I’m making a new one for February. Without further ado, let’s dive into my February 2026 hopefuls and a brief recap of my reading from last month!

Recap of Last Month

It has been a couple of months since I made a TBR or picked out hopefuls at the start of the month. I just wasn’t really feeling it. 🤷‍♂️ That didn’t stop January from being a great reading month, though. I finished 11 books with an average rating of 3.98 stars! Interestingly, less than half of my books were fantasy, which is possibly the first time that’s happened in years. Romance for the win. lol. Here’s a brief look at everything I read, as well as some reading stats from StoryGraph.

February 2026 Priority Hopefuls

I’m sticking with six books again for the priority reads in February. Three of them are February ARCs, Strange Animals by Jarod K. Anderson, All We Have Is Time by Amy Tordoff, & The Red Winter by Cameron Sullivan. I’ve also included one overdue ARC from January, Sister Svangerd and the Not Quite Dead by K. J. Parker. Finally, I’m rounding out my priority reads with a buddy read with Dini of Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh and continuing the Game Changers series with Common Goal by Rachel Reid.

Other February 2026 Hopefuls

I’d like to focus on some other overdue ARCs and recent releases this month if time permits. With that in mind, here are some other February hopefuls:

To Ride a Rising Storm by Moniquill Blackgoose, After Hours at Dooryard Books by Cat Sebastian, Apparently, Sir Cameron Needs to Die by Greer Stothers, The Poet Empress by Shen Tao

Well. Those are my February 2026 hopefuls. I’d love to read everything listed on this page, but that is unlikely. If I make it through six of them, I’ll consider February to be a success! Do we have any hopefuls in common this month? Happy reading!

  1. The hype of Heated Rivalry just walked by me. But that’s probably I hardly read pure contemporary romance books. And if I do, I always run into the same wall of overcompensated drama which I despise. 😀

The Illumicrate edition of The Poet Empress did arrive here end of January, but by this time it was too late to add it to my TBR list for February. In case you love to come by, you might want your browser to help you translate some parts of my post, even though all book features are in English.

To Ride A Rising Storm is also an overdue ARC on my end. I am curious what you’ll say about The Red Winter, which is waiting on my wishlist because I am not sure if I want/should/could read it. 😀

I hope you’ll have a successful February and some of your hopefuls will be read at the end of the month.

    • Thank you! I enjoyed the Heated Rivalry show. So, I decided to pick up the book series. I’m enjoying it so far and am now in my contemporary romance era. lol.

I hope you have a successful February, as well, and that we both end up liking To Ride a Rising Storm.

  2. Looking forward to your thoughts on SOME DESPERATE GLORY. I read it as an ARC and liked it, but had some small issues with it. That was a time I was trying to get more into sci-fi and I’ve just given up in that regard lol.

  3. Looks like you had a great start to your reading year! I was literally just looking at First Last Kiss and wondering if I should add it to my TBR wishlist and seeing as you loved it, the answer is going to be a yes. 😂 I’m excited about Our Desperate Glory. I’m surprisingly enjoying it more than I thought I would, especially considering the MC is so unlikable, lol. Happy reading, Chris!

    • It has been a pretty great start to the year! I hope you enjoy LAST FIRST KISS as much as I did. I almost always enjoy Winters books. Our Desperate Glory is so good so far. It has definitely surpassed my expectations, too.
