Happy Saturday, everyone! We’ve reached the end of another week. Today I’m going to, once again, wrap up my week, including notes about my personal life, blog posts/book reviews, reading updates, book acquisitions (if any), and comic book acquisitions and reading progress.
Personal Updates
This week has been crazy busy. I’ve been cooking and cleaning for what seems like forever. lol. Thanksgiving was fun, though, and all the food turned out great. The preparation was a bit rough at times. The turkey and I fought quite a bit and wrestling it around the kitchen threw out my back. However, I had the last laugh because it turned out delicious. I enjoyed spending time with my family and doing a little Black Friday shopping even if it was very different from years past with most of the shopping done online. I kind of missed the hectic frenzy of years past, but it was also nice to be able to click a button and know I’ve gotten what I wanted. Overall, it has been a good, but busy, week.
Book Acquisitions

I picked up no books for almost the entire past week. Then yesterday I went a bit crazy. I went out to pick up my Black Friday purchases from Target and decided to stop by B&N to check out the deals. I picked up Beasts of Prey 50% off and threw in several of the Dresden Files books too, even though they weren’t on sale. When I got home I checked the Kindle ebook sales and decided to purchase the Throne of Glass series since all eight books were on sale for $6. I couldn’t pass up that kind of steal. Then today I was surprised by the fourth volume of Heartstopper showing up in my mailbox. I got tired of waiting for the U.S. version to come out. When I saw the publication date had been pushed back to January, I ordered the British version from Book Depository, and it got here much quicker than I expected! I’ll be reading it tonight to help cure this Jade Legacy book hangover.
Comic Book Acquisitions & Reading Progress

This week was much lighter than last week on the comics front. I didn’t get to read any comics this week because of how busy I’ve been, but I’m going to try to get some stuff read by the end of the month…
Reading Updates

I’ve read a lot this week. I finished the chonkers The Eye of the World and Jade Legacy. I also sped through A Dance of Lies. I really enjoyed all my reading this week, and Jade Legacy has left me feeling completely empty but in the best possible way…if that makes sense. Be on the lookout for my review sometime in the next couple days.
Blog Posts & Book Reviews
I posted a bit less this week than usual due to all the holiday craziness. My posts from the last week are listed below:
- Weekly Wrap-Up – November 20, 2021 – This post is my weekly wrap-up from last Saturday. Check it out, if you haven’t already, to see my updates from last week.
- Book Review – The Eye of the World – This post highlights my thoughts on the first book in the Wheel of Time series. I enjoyed the book, but it was a bit bloated and seemed to drag on in spots.
- Most Anticipated Releases of December 2021 – This post shows the books I’m most excited for that are releasing in December 2021.
- Mini Review – A Dance of Lies – This mini review displays my thoughts on the fourth book in the Outlands Pentalogy. It was another great installment that focused more on character growth and packed some emotional punches.
- First Lines Fridays #33 – This post provides the first lines of a book and asks you to guess, and judge, the book by those lines. Check it out to see if you can guess the book.
Final Thoughts
There you have it! Another weekly wrap-up. I love reading wrap-up posts. So, if you’ve got one for this week, please leave a link to it in the comments, and I’ll stop by and check it out.
