WWW Wednesday (132) – May 28, 2025

Hello, everyone! It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. I’ll be answering the following questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

What did you read last?

Here is a look at the two books I’ve read since my last check-in:

Tears of the Nameless by George Mann – 4.75⭐– This book was so good! I loved getting another story with Reath Silas. His reunion with Cohmac was emotional, and his new friendship with Amadeo was so adorable. The story added so much to The High Republic and finally started explaining some of the mysteries about the Nameless. You can find all of my thoughts in my review.

The Wren in the Holly Library by K. A. Linde – 3.5⭐– This was an interesting heist story with a lot of mysteries. I liked the ties to Irish mythology and enjoyed getting to know the characters. The pacing and writing weren’t always the best, though, and the romance felt a little forced.

What are you currently reading?

Nobody in Particular by Sophie Gonzales (59%) – This book is so good so far. It has royal sapphics, teenage angst, and boarding school shenanigans. Gonzales is such a great writer, and this story is no exception so far.

Tempest Breaker by Cavan Scott (44%) – This is a great audio drama so far. Lourna Dee is such an interesting character, and she’s had quite the journey over the course of The High Republic. The reunion of her, Keeve, and Avar was just as dramatic as I expected, and I’m looking forward to seeing how everything plays out.

A Burning in the Bones by Scott Reintgen (11%) – I’m not far enough into this one to have much of an opinion yet. I am looking forward to seeing how this series ends, though.

His Face Is the Sun by Michelle Jabès Corpora (40%) – I made a little progress on this one before the library took back the audiobook. I need to pick up my hard copy of it but haven’t gotten around to it yet. The world-building is so interesting, and I really like all of the characters so far. I’m curious to see how all of their stories intersect before the end.

What will you read next?

I’m not sure what I’ll be reading next, but I have a bunch of ARCs and recent releases I need to get to. Here are a few of them:

The Survivor Wants to Die at the End by Adam Silvera, The Lure of Their Graves by Laura R. Samotin, We Can Never Leave by H. E. Edgmon

I hope you’ve all had a great week! What have you been reading? Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments and feel free to link your WWW Wednesday posts there, as well. I’d love to see them!

  1. It sounds as though all of your reading is going well at the moment. I haven’t heard of most of these but I’m definitely tempted by His Face is the Sun.

    • It is going well. I was afraid that a slump was starting for a while, but now I’m bouncing between so many books at once and am enjoying them all. I’m really liking His Face Is the Sun so far. The Egyptian-inspired setting is really cool, and I’ve found all of the characters to be so compelling. I’m very curious to see where it is all headed.
